“POSH KNIT”

After many names were suggested, and after my manufacturer and the QVC team investigated which names had not been registered already, [ many had to be eliminated because they were already registered], the decision was to call the new On Line Only silk/cashmere group…….”POSH KNIT”………………….we all felt it was very descriptive of the luxurious feel of the beautiful silk and cashmere blend sweaters. I like the name “POSH” because it’s a word we don’t use or hear too often……….it’s right out of an F.S. Fitzgerald novel…………This group of “OLO” sweaters will be avail this Oct……just in time for the chilly weather and the start of Holiday buying……………the “Whisper Knit” and the “Linea Ponte”  OLO groups will be avail in September. It would have been TOO MUCH to offer them all at once and the factories need lots of time to manufacture sweaters correctly………..if there are any other updates….I will keep you posted!…………………..enjoy…………much Love………………..Louis

Oh, I just love it, Louis—Posh Knit! I have a good friend who lives in London and when I met her in 2004 she introduced me to the word “Posh”–when we’d go shopping for high end handbags she’d say “let’s go to the Posh Street!” Can’t believe no one had used it/trademarked it yet—I’m just loving this new name—well done, Louis!

I was very surprised too that the name Posh hadn’t been trademarked……..so many of the names suggested had been trademarked, that when I was told this was avail. I said that’s it.

Posh Knit, how apropos, just wondering if the inclusion of spandex in the blend lowered the expense. Does nylon increase the cost, this adds up to 57%, what’s the balance, polyester, at 53%? Am I being too inquisitive?

    1. Cela

      Did I say 57, I meant 47. Sorry Louis.

        LOUIS,

I think you meant to say 70% SILK, right?

Do you have September show dates yet?

    Good afternoon Louis,

Can you tell us the fabric percentages? How much silk to cashmere? Did the Q put a limit on the percentage ratio to you and the factory? Curious…

    Regards,
    Chris

17silk/15nylon/12cashmere/3span….qvc never tells me what yarns or what fabrics to use. I asked my sweater factory to send knit downs of different cashmeres and cashmere blends and I really loved this blend, especially because it was the only one with span in it which help to keep the shape of the sweater which many sweaters with more cashmere do not. The silk yarn is just as costly as the cashmere. The nylon is used for strength and the span for stretch. No one else has this yarn. You can not find it anywhere at retail because it is made especially for me. This is not a yarn that is readily avail. It is made for special orders.

        17+15+12+3=47% I am confused

Sorry to confuse……I always get numbers wrong….style numbers, percentages etc etc…that’s why Jac writes the checks…LOL

This fabric blend sounds so very nice; thanks for the details. I don’t wear a lot of turtlenecks, so hadn’t tried yet although I was so tempted as I love silks … I really look forward to trying in other necklines!

I like it, Louis. From an auditory perspective alone,it rolls off the tongue: “Poshknit.” It’s all one sound, one vision. “Posh,” in addition to suggesting richness and luxury, suggests softness. It is a soft-sounding word. A nice soft knit to wear on your body. Plus, it is luxurious.

Brilliant choice! Best of luck with POSH KNIT!
