“THE WHISPER KNIT TUNIC CON’T”

Linea Ponte6

TOBACCO is the second new color being offered in the A228341, TUNIC JEWEL NECK SWEATER. I have it simply shown above with a black KNIT PENCIL SKIRT. The new WK or the ACRYLIC/WOOL skirts would work equally well. Three strands of GUNMETAL LOVE KNOT NECKLACES [two long & one short], add just the right touch. The TOPAZ is a great accent color and is a match to any of the TOPAZ JACKETS I have offered….the SUEDE and the SEAMED JACKET from last fall. It is also a wonderful accent to BORDEAUX, CHARCOAL, WALNUT, FOREST and SPRUCE GREEN, NAVY and of course BLACK….plus a whole range of other colors. It is also a wonderful accent to the SIENNA TWEED. This is definitely a color to have in you wardrobe. Unfortunately my photos came out a little dark!…..This Tobacco, just to be clear, is NOT the tobacco from spring. This “new” Tobacco is a mixture of last springs tobacco and this years Topaz………………think AUTUMN LEAVES…………………………………………………………….enjoy……….much Love………….Louis

Well, now I know why when I ordered this tunic sight unseen in tobacco, what arrived wasn’t remotely like the summer tobacco rib knit tank, LOL. Still, it is a beautiful color and I’m glad to know it is topaz because I wasn’t able to get the topaz in my size in the other OLO styles before it sold out. Now, if my malachite ever arrives, I will have at least one of every color of the fall whisper knits! I do love the length and easy wear of this tunic. The walnut and black last year was my preferred Friday choice for the office.

Dear Diamondscribe…….I have made a big mistake….I said topaz in my sneak peek, but it is listed as TOBACCO on the QVC site. It really is NEITHER TOBACCO OR TOPAZ…….it’s sort of a combination of both and then deeper. It really is a new color and only comes in this reorder sweater! It however, is a beautiful color and does look great with the sienna tweed……..maybe it should have been called sienna, which it is more like. I have corrected my post to read tobacco, but it clearly isn’t last years tobacco…………….too many colors….too many names…..it’s hard to keep track.

Louis, Back in 2011, you did a WK 3/4 sleeve crew neck sweater A210367 in forest green and sienna. Would you say this is the same sienna? Love that color!

Dear Jane I no longer have that sample but I would say, from what I can recall, they are in the same family. This new color is like molasses, and that’s what I should have called it. It really is a beautiful. I will be showing it on the next show.

Oh, I love the color and am keeping it. I have 2 of the tobacco rib knit tanks and am stalking a 3 because the color is so flexible. I think this tunic will also be a flexible one for outfits… but apparently a difficult color to name. The problem with labeling it as Sienna is that the sienna that came in the 3/4 sleeve A210367 WK-type sweater has much more red in it – and those of us that are long-time LDO shoppers will have that shade in mind when we see that label. Yes, too many browns and not enough names! And, probably QVC has a list of standard names.

I can see where the Q-techie put tobacco – because it is like tobacco on steroids…that color hue only deeper. I like that it adds a brown neutral to the wardrobe that is halfway between tobacco and walnut.

I remember that sienna sweater, but I have no idea where it is

Hi Louis, the Q has this color listed as tobacco, thought you should know.

Yes….that’s what we gave them as the color….our screw up.
