“THE LINEA PONTE MAXI SKIRT IN FOREST GREEN”

betrayal5

If you own anything in the  FOREST GREEN PONTE KNIT, you know what a marvelous rich color it is! Worn as a suit with the LINEA PONTE TWO WAY ZIP JACKET, A237387, looks just as good as any runway look I’ve seen, and no one…..absolutely no one will believe were you bought it…….Worn with the multi strand gold Linea necklace and the new LINEA GOLD HOOP, coming this spring….. it is a million dollar look…..sophisticated and timeless. Speaking of the FOREST GREEN two way zip jacket. This jacket was “born” from the A230025, two way zip ponte jacket in what I call the TORTOISE pattern jacquard [QVC calls it animal. but my inspiration for the pattern was from the markings on tortoise’s shells]….. 53 out of 54 women highly recommended this jacket, and this was from women of ALL SIZES. YOU asked me to give you the Tortoise jacket in solid colors……and A237387 is it. It has the same silhouette, fit, two way zipper and invisible zippers in the seams where the pocket are. This jacket, due to the two way zipper can be worn many different way…..it’s comfortable and practical…..it works as a suit, shown above or as casual as you want to get…..Worn with  jeans it’s a zillion times better looking than an ordinary zip front sweat shirt…….I digress….. When buying this skirt the important size to look at is the HIP. There is enough stretch in the fabric so you don’t have to worry about that….but you do not want the hip measurement to be too big or the skirt will lose it’s sleek effect. I would say this skirt fits like most of my other Ponte skirts so order accordingly. One of the best things about this FOREST GREEN is….it goes with everything…..it’s actually a very neutral color…. If you want to go for the Town & Country look mix it with warm earth tones……camel, sienna, caramel, topaz, walnut, burnt orange etc…….or………jewel tones such as VIOLET, FUCHSIA, RUBY,  MALLARD BLUE,  etc…. will give the FOREST GREEN a glamorous spike. I know my “GREEN’ gals will want to give this a try…………….scroll down for more……………………………………………………………………………..enjoy………………………….much Love……………………………………….Louis

Well, you just KNOW this ponte maxi is coming home to my closet, to snuggle up to all the other forest green (and spruce, and dark green, and tarragon, etc etc) Lineas in my collection! I have the recent ponte tunic in forest green and plan to try it with this skirt. But wondering if the “expert” thinks that would be too much long-over-long proportions?

I’ve also been pondering the ponte zip up jacket in forest green but it seems like it would be too close-fitting for me in my regular size (tummy issues) but the proportions of the jacket might seem baggy in shoulders and arms if I went up a size. Any advice, dear Louis? Thanks for all you do for us– and STILL waiting for the doggie holiday photos!– Blinddogs

Dear Blinddogs…..How tall are you? I am assuming you are talking about the V-neck tunic in the Forest Green….correct? Since the skirt is a tulip shape it can work together worn with a higher heeled boot, but as you say long over long can be a challenge for many women. It boils down to attitude…….some women can carry that proportion off and some look drowned in it. It’s not a proportion I would recommend for petite women ever. Naturally, it’s a better look for tall women….If you have a long skirt you can try it on with the tunic and see if you like it. Of course all one color will make a difference, but this will be a good way for you too judge. If you don’t have a long skirt try it with one of my knit pencil skirts and drop the skirt as far as you can without it falling off….with the tunic over it, and see if you can tell from that………The “Tale of the Zip Jacket and the Tummy”…………..I honestly don’t know how to answer you. If you hesitate, there’s probably a reason. I will say the jacket does have a two way zipper which can help diminish the strain, and you can leave it unzipped from the bottom to the waist, or you can always leave it open with a sweater under it, or just leave the very top zipped, but I think you know best if any of these suggestions would work for you or if you would be comfortable wearing the jacket any of these ways. Unfortunately, since we haven’t had the good fortune to meet, it’s hard for me to say if it would look good or not. Do you own the Tortoise Jacquard version of the double zip jacket? it’s basically the same body……it’s not green, but because of the pattern it may be more flattering…………….it’s hard for me it advise you on this one.

Thanks so much, Louis, for taking the time to provide your thoughtful analysis. I am about 5’5″ (used to be taller, but shrinking with age LOL). Most of my height is in the legs, so I don’t have a problem with longer skirts.

I think I will order the skirt as soon as it is available, try it with the v neck tunic and take it from there. I like the ‘column of color’ style, but I think this skirt is so versatile I will try to mix things up with some of the other ponte tunics I have from recent and past Linea acquisitions. (Burgundy, black, a lovely pale lavender from many moons ago, etc.)– blinddogs

Dear Nancy….I hope the skirt works for you. If it does I’m sure you will find many things to go with it.
