“THE MARIGOLD TILE PRINT TOP & SKIRT”

tile print

When something you design comes out exactly….no….even BETTER than you had hoped….it’s time for a designer to rejoice! ….This is OUR WORK….this is what we LOVE to do……That is the case with the ….TILE PRINT…..The inspiration for the print came from actual tiles and the execution is PHENOMENAL!!!

The MARIGOLD TILE PRINT TOP, A255179, is the same polyester/span jersey that I have used many many times before. Why do I keep using this fabric???….because it sells and it reorders…..you can not deny or fight success…..The body of the top is also one I keep using over and over…..again, because it is proven… the majority of the Linea Ladies LOVE it. It has a V-neckline and a 3/4 sleeve, and is the perfect silhouette for the TILE PRINT……..THIS IS A PLACEMENT PRINT….so every top will look exactly like the one in my photos….You will not have a motif landing in an unwanted place….that applies for the skirt too…..Please NOTICE how the COFFEE BEAN portion of the print CARVES into the body at the WAIST….this is not happenstance…..This was designed on purpose to  create an hour glass effect, and  to make the waist look smaller……There are many colors in the print, but the four predominate colors are MARIGOLD, COFFEE BEAN, WHITE and JADE…..there is also a sky blue and a red orange…..the others I’ll let you discover……….The MARIGOLD PRINT TILE SKIRT, A255181…..is a simple pencil skirt, and all of the fit details are listed on the QVC LINEA site. It has a back zip with a button. The skirt is fully LINED in a tricot knit…Why line it?…..it feels a little more substantial and you will have more confidence wearing a knit skirt…….The print itself is a terrific CAMOUFLAGE!…..There are so many ways to mix and match the two MARIGOLD PIECES…..First, I LOVE IT AS A TWO PIECE DRESS……..it’s a right off the RUNWAY LOOK, and I think any woman of any SIZE can wear it! ….Then start mixing……the COFFEE BEAN COTTON SLEEVELESS SHIRT…..THE COFFEE BEAN WHISPER KNIT SWEATERS…..the new JADE COTTON/SPAN  KNIT TUNIC, A255145, think of the T SHIRT DRESS as a tunic….scoop neck, short sleeves and same pocket detail……..Anything you may own in “REEF GREEN” will work…..remember that color from a few seasons back…..There will also be a NEW STYLE  WK  TANK that was designed specifically to go with the tile print skirt. The color that will coordinate with the MARIGOLD is………JADE…..Wear it with the COFFEE BEAN OPEN FRONT KIMONO CARDIGAN, and you will have one WOW outfit!!! My samples haven’t arrived yet or I would have photographed it……..fingers crossed…………….scroll down………………………………………………..

…………………………….enjoy…………………………………….much Love…………………………………….Louis

Louis, thank you. The marigold color combination has me humming the song, “Happy,” whenever I see it. I already have all the coffee bean whisper knit pieces, plus lots of other tops, jackets, shoes and jewelry that coordinates with this skirt. It’s amazing how many different outfits I will be able to make for spring, summer and fall for a mere $33 investment.

I can’t wait to order the peacock tunic and the jade whisper knits. LOVE those colors and I don’t see much of them in the summer. Your summer 2014 collection is the best summer collection of seen from any designer in any price point in decades. Thank you for making your elegant pieces both useful, easy to care for and affordable. You are truly a national treasure.

The jacket/pants in dark tan, white and black were pieces I’ve wanted for years. Next summer can we get longer pants in the dark tan, either straight leg or boot cut? Or for early fall 2015? I would love that color in your shorts, too, if/when there’s a reorder? Thank you so much for all you do for us!

I can easily see all these pieces as being transitional into early fall dependent on separating them with the predominant darker color such as brown with the marigold as you’ve shown. Just put a longer top on or add a sweater or jacket to a sleeveless top and at least in the southern states you’ve got an early fall outfit. Often we don’t need colder weather clothing until the middle of October, sometime even near the end of that month. Love the marigold and the cobalt colors but would definitely wear them as separates myself.

That’s the idea….summer bottoms now….winter bottoms and cardis or jackets for fall/winter.

    Louis,
Will this jade whisper knit be part of the set of two whisper knits coming? How is it styled? I will definitely get this outfit, it’s is stunning with the amber jewelry, if that’s what it is.

I love the print, fabric, and colors of the tile pieces. these will be on my buy list for sure. I like the two piece “dress”. It is nice for those that may need one size on the top and a different on the bottom plus I can alternate a solid option with blazer. Talk about stretching the dollar – right?
Louis, I need to tell you I have traveled and worn the ponte knit jacket A233182 a lot. What a great garment! I have washed the jacket three times and after the dryer I hang it up and it is ready to wear. Your persistence to give us style and quality for a good price are what keep me coming back. thanks much!

Absolutely exquisite…but I want all of the jewelry too!

Sea green works, right? I’ve got the scoop neck wk in sea green along with the jacket.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Which is the sea green? I too get confused between the “sea green” and the “reef green”. A numbers would be helpful.

        A230883-scoopneck and A219824-jacket

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

…the TSV Peplum jacket…..the color is much deeper than the Jade in the print, but they are in the same family so I think they work well together.

  7. Sherry

Will that new Cotton/Span Tunic be coming in Coffee Bean?

    1. Sherry

Oh…and BTW…love this new Tile Print…I don’t need it, I don’t need it, I don’t need it…but it’s whispering softly to me right now…before long, if I don’t listen…it will be yelling at me…LOL…so, you now I’m going to have to have it…I am such a brow lover that the Marigold will suit me fine.

      1. Sherry

White, Black, Olive, and Peacock…aren’t those the colors of the Cotton/Span Leggings? I was asking about the colors of the Cotton/Span Tunic Top, A255145, that you are showing in Jade…Thanks

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes, the tunic and the leggings are in the same colors. The color of the cotton knit is peacock not jade

          1. Sherry

            OH…OK…I get it now.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sherry….yes June is basically the end of summer apparel. I will have three pieces in July, but they are summer/trans….then Aug starts Fall

            2. Sherry

Thanks, good to know that a break is coming soon…I went a bit crazy for all the Black, White Dark Tan from the last show. But, I love it and I have a hard time buying a jacket and not the matching pants (if available) and vise versa. It never fails if I don’t buy a matching piece…that’s the one I would have gotten the most use out of….funny how that always seems to be…

Louis, this print is fabulous! I feel like I am back in Morocco!

  9. Pamela

    Dear, dear Louis:

What a WoW of a print. Love it with Turquoise or my Amazonite gemstone jewels will look fabulous with both matching pieces. It’s gorgeous – and here I’ve recently told myself I need no more ethnic prints! As a blonde, that Marigold will make me shine – Thank you!

    1. Pamela

Marigold leans towards the Orange hue?

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Pamela….I know you must get flats of Marigolds to plant in boarders. Some of them are a lemony yellow, and some lean more towards an orange without being orange. That’s how I would describe this color. It’s a warn yellow orange….not an orange yellow……there’s a big difference.

        1. Pamela

Thanks Louis for your clarification of color – think this shade of yellow will be complimentary for me. Do desire that ‘hint’ of Orange as to avoid looking like a walking lemon drop.

p.s. after brunch today – purchased my 1st flats of annuals (including marigolds – the large heads) – great pest deterrent for my herb garden + the moose won’t eat unless they’re really, really hungry – HA!

Hope you’re enjoying Sunshine as we are in beautiful AK today!?!
