HOME SAFE AND SOUND

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed the shows. The results were terrific and we surpassed our goals….thank you all. Jac and I were and still are exhausted. We had to get up at about 2:30am Friday morning to be at QVC by 4am. We have to be there at least 1 hour before the show [they would prefer 2 hours before], and there are always things I have to go over with the stylists and the models. Of course, I really don’t get any sleep because the mind keeps going and going!!! In between shows I have to get ready for the next show and pack up the previous show…..so it leaves very little relaxing time….if any. By the time the day is done we are spent. We left QVC about 5pm and got home about 9pm. We hit tons of rush hour traffic in three states!!! Jac and I shared the driving. There were also terrible storms in NY and CT that we just missed. We were following them up the coast. I drove the first half and Jac took us home. We were happy to see the girls and spent the weekend relaxing and sleeping. This morning, Monday, was my first day back at the gym and I really need it. This afternoon I have a therapy session! I don’t think I’ll make it through the Yankee game tonight. Tomorrow I have apts. in the city…..no rest for the weary!! I understand some of you missed getting pieces you wanted. I know farmerswife wanted the gold trimmed T in navy and gardensla wanted the ivory chain print shirt in a 3x to make into a neckerchief, but they were sold out. I have asked my manufacturer and she replied this morning that all the pieces QVC ordered in those styles were shipped completely and there were no quality issues or shortages.  I can only conclude that they were pre-ordered before your orders got in. Maybe you will get a cancellation…..lets hope so.
I just wanted to check in and thank all of you once again for being so supportive. Know, that I am always here to answer any questions you may have……much Love, Louis

    Hi Louis,

You may have been joking about Jac’s closet – but I work in NYC, my closet is filled with black and for me, olive is definitely an adventurous step into the world of color! I’m really looking forward to your olive pieces that are coming soon.

I wish you would consider making a line of scarves to accessorize and add some color to our wardrobes. I’m a scarf girl – and I’m sure your designs would most definitely be “Hermes-esque” – to borrow a term from gardensla. Any chance? I’d become a collector!

      Dear Enjay,
There is nothing more I would rather do than to offer a complete line of accessories, but it is not up to me…..it’s up to the PTB. I really would love to expand the line but I don’t see it happening any time soon……regards, Louis

    1. I spent two hours with a needle and thread and now have the most fabulous Hermes-esque chain print scarves! Just as I thought, they are the perfect size and weight for a dead chic neckerchief either wrapped around the neck or the wrist, tied to a bag, or worn as a head scarf. I will post on the Q site! (Oh, and the skirts are lovely!)

    2. The chain jewelry looks and feels like those 1500.00 ones from Chanel and other high end designer brands. A total steal. Please, please, if you can, bring more!

    3. Finally, the sweater sets are perfect in fit and color. If they sell well, I hope to see them offered in navy, red, brown and a nice bottle green!

Thanks for some great summer into early fall clothes.

    1. louisdellolio

Hello, Have you posted your comments about the jewelry on the Linea site? Have a wonderful 4th of July!…………best regards, Louis

      1. gardensla

        Thanks for the reminder. Done!

Love the items I have received so far. The crepe pants fit me in the Small and I took all 3 colors to my seamstress to be shortened. Any chance that an olive, black, espresso brown or tomato red color pebble crepe pant is in the pipeline??

The chain print skirt in the blue looks fantastic with the matching blouse and/or gold trimmed tee. Even my DH who notices things sometimes said they looked great!!

I have one question on the 100% cotton on the chain lawn blouse– is it preshrunk? I do intend to wash it in cold and hang to dry, but I am sure this is a concern for many. Are most of your 100% cotton items preshrunk? Thanks in advance for your qick responses and as always, regards to Jac and your ‘girls’. Chris

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Chris,
Iam happy you are pleased with your new clothes and the fact that your husband likes them is a two thumbs up!
I have always assumed the fabrics were preshrunk before cutting. QVC has very stringent guide lines, but I will check with my manufacturer to be sure and get back to you………regards, Louis

    Dear Louis,

I’ve only been buying your clothes since March, and now I understand what all the fuss is about. Your clothes fit well, they’re made with good fabrics and special details, and they have classic styles so that they’ll last.

One day I looked in my closet and realized that almost all of my work clothes were black. Wearing black is very common in the Northeast, but my closet just looked sad. Thank you for designing classic clothing for a good price (and enough color so that I no longer look like I’m always ready to attend a funeral). Thanks also for making sure that we can mix and match our old and new pieces, and please keep giving fashion tips so I look like I know what I’m doing 🙂

    Mary

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Mary,
Are you sure you weren’t looking in my wife’s closet….LOL. It is true, gals in the northeast tend to wear lots of black. My wife also wears a lot of white, and khaki especially during, but not exclusively to, the summer months. I have noticed, even Jac has branched out and has added some colors to her wardrobe. Of course, for her, olive is a big step……actually I’m kidding. She does wear deep colors in the winter and some color added to her black and white in the summer.
When I go to therapy for my shoulder, I wear a different color Lacoste shirt every time and all the PTs [physical therapists] always comment on my shirts. Don’t be afraid….color is a good thing!…..regards, Louis

Louis my medium pants in the pebble fabric were huge – I am a solid ten and the Medium looked like an extra large on me..Does this style run large – I have to admit this is the first pair of slacks I have ordered from you – medium skirts and dresses have been perfect.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Deborah,
This style and fabric is something I repeated from last year. I did a pebble crepe pant in black and purple and we didn’t receive any complaints about the sizing, so I told my manufacturer to use the same pant this year. I know the pant is generous since a women has to get it over their hips. I do think QVC’s measurement are a little too generous, but no one has said these pants are huge.My only reference is when the fitting model wears them and they are a size small and 1X and they fit them as they should. When I saw them on the models they all wore their normal size and they weren’t big. Did you check the measurement provided? I wish I could be of more help guiding you. I can only suggest you ask the question on the “Linea Forum”. Ask the women how they are finding the sizing of this pant…..small, normal or large? I’m sure you will get speedy responses……..best regards, Louis

  6. Susie

    Hi Louis-

My orders haven’t arrived yet….can’t wait!

Is there any word on the progress of the mock neck sweater? I HAVE to have more! I only discovered them last Feb. (really bad timing). I think the Q would be pleased at just how many you’d continue to sell at the higher price. I NEED 2 black, a white, & was really excited for the new spruce color.

Love to you, Jac, & the pups,
    Susie

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Susie,
It’s still in discussion….I’m not giving up on it…..”IF” it happens….the colors will probably be black, white and perfectly pink and if it does well at the higher price….then I will be able to add colors. I felt those three were in highest demand…………sincerely, Louis

      1. Susie

Thanks for the quick reply. The mock sweater is definitely one to fight for….it’s THAT GREAT!

  7. Deborah

Louis – I loved all of the shows and can’t wait – today my things are to arrive – I ordered the chain suit and blouse in pink. the black tiered short skirt, the pebble slacks and top and the kiwi leopard jacket – oh my the UPS woman will have her hands full today. I sure hope she delivers before my husband gets home – he will have heart failure when he sees all the bags. But really, for what I spent on all of these clothes, it would be one full outfit at the Chi– store – and your things are made so much better. Thank you for all you do and the Q needs to get you a todays special so even more see your outstanding work. There is no one to compare to you and your values.

  8. Susan

    Dear Louis,
I did not get to see your shows live last week, but I did get everything ordered at midnight, and then later watched the videos. I ordered at least one of everything, some in multiple colors! Wow! My son flew in for a short visit and Friday was packed with running around and fun. The shows were fabulous. You did an amazing job – again! I feel like the luckiest lady on earth. My new pieces are starting to dribble in and I love everything so far. The pebble crepe pants are long enough! YES!! I thought I was going to have to shorten them to make crop pants – ha! No need for that. I’m 5’10” too! As I read your post above, my heart swelled with appreciation for all that you do for us.
Today I wore the Ivory piped pant and matching jacket. I had blackberries on my oatmeal this morning, and had to reheat it after being interrupted with work. The warm blackberries spurted juice onto my outfit. My heart sunk. I thought for sure the blazer was ruined. I quickly put stain remover on it and scrubbed with cold water, but the stains were not budging. I decided to try cold-water gentle cycle, with non-chlorine bleach and more stain remover. After two cycles, I’m here to report that the stains are gone. But here’s the amazing part – the entire outfit looks like it just came from the cleaners – not a wrinkle anywhere – polished and beautiful! Even though the instructions say these beautiful blazers are washable, I would have never chanced doing so. I wish I could send you a picture of how they came out – simply amazing! This is a great, great, quality fabric!
Thank you again and please tell Jac she looked beautiful, as always.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Susan,
That is an amazing story. The second I read blackberry, I knew it wasn’t going to be good. PLEASE! the next time you wear the suit…..only eat white foods….like oatmeal…..no blackberries! I hope you find all of your “goodies” to your liking…………best regards, Louis

  9. louisdellolio

    Dear Alexandra,
15 new items…WOW, I hope you are pleased with everything!
I will have quite a variety of clothes for the up coming Fall/Winter season. I will not have any coats but, I will have some outerwear pieces. There are going to be many sweaters and I will have two groups of “essential” sweaters also. The first group will be in Aug. and the second group in Sept. I have one pair of pull-on pants for fall but there are other styles that will be avail……..regards, Louis

    1. Alexandra

Thank you Louis for lettinhg me know!!! I will be looking forward to the August and September shows! But firs… we have July shows to look forward to!!!

  10. Venessa/Shopperv

Hi Louis, glad to hear you both made it home safely. I had to work on Friday so I didn’t get to see any of it live. However, I did make several purchases sneaking views on my iphone (where there’s a will, there’s a way). I’m excited to receive the mosaic skirt in navy, the green chambray tunic/dress and crop pants! Looking forward to July’s show. Thanks again for your remarkable clothing line!!!!!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Venessa,
What would we do without our iphones….LOL. I’m glad you were able to get the pieces you wanted…..regards, Louis

  11. farmerwife

Thank you, Louis for checking on the T shirts. My order of the navy did indeed go over to in process, hopefully all the others that ordered at midnight est will also get theirs. Your show was wonderful, and once the things arrive, I’ll have a great time putting various outfits together from the mountain of clothing I ordered.

    1. louisdellolio

That’s great! I was feeling very badly that you weren’t able to complete your outfit. I’ll see you in July, before Hawaii?……….regards, Louis

  12. Marcia

    Hi Louis

Enjoyed the show and your styling! Lots of ideas. I got the ivory chain print- but had to order the navy skirt after seeing it with the navy cardigan ( which I also ordered). Thanks for all of your hard work- I find myself wearing at least 1 piece of Linea everyday! And I have only been buying sice November of last year- thats how classic and versatile your pieces are. I am most excited about the sleeveless tunic in toasted almond (on waitlist) and ivory cardigan.
    Marcia

    1. louisdellolio

      Marcia,
It sounds like you are a true Linea gal!….regards, Louis

  13. Carol

When some of the community forum members were complaining about the times of the shows, all I could think was “Poor Louis and Jac!” The hours might not be ideal for us, but with so little time between shows, OUCH! That had to be rough. I suggest next time, Louis, you and Jac take a limo! Your shows were, as always, incredible.

Now for the seemingly interminable wait for the treasure trove to arrive!

Thanks again for all your efforts to make us beautiful,
    Carol aka crdlb

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi Carol,
One of the things we do enjoy is driving down. When we have the chance there are many places to see. In May, Jac discovered an enormous needle point store. I stocked up on yarn colors that I use for the clothing, prints etc., and Jac picked up some nice canvases.
This trip was exceptionally busy with the three shows so close together…..but at least we were able to get home on Friday and have the weekend…..regards, Louis

      1. MH-MN

Needlepoint! A woman after my own heart.

Thanks to you both for the great shows last Friday. I hope that now you are enjoying a relaxing week after all the effort that went into them.

  14. Alexandra

I’m so very happy that you and your wife got safely home! I wanted to thank you, Louis for giving us the information about new products early, and QVC had finally put all the new items on the website the night before the shows. I’m in Seattle, so, the first show for me would’ve been at 2 am, but I am soooooo very happy that I was able to purchase the items (about 15 new items) I wanted on-line before they aired (about 11 pm). Now, I’m looking very much forward to the July shows, and you letting us know what you’d have for us in the coming shows!!! Are the items in July going to be transitional??? When the new fall items are going to show??? Are you going to create more coats, sweaters, pull-on full-length pants and jackets for colder weather this year??? Please let me know!
