Aug 28th Show Details!

Hi Everyone’
It seems that this show was a long time coming but it is almost finally here! The following are all of the details for each piece:

THE REORDERS:
1-A72448, is “THE” turtleneck. If you are a turtle neck lover this is it…if you aren’t….this may be the one to convert you! It already has converted many who would never consider wearing a turtle neck. Why is it so popular? The “Whisper Knit” in rayon and nylon is soft and smooth on the body. It is light weight so it is perfect for layering. The colors are rich and saturated. The fit gracefully follows the lines of the body without being tight or clingy, but most of all it’s the turtle neck itself. It isn’t tight nor is it loose and droopy. It fits the neck the way a turtle neck should. My only suggestion is get all the colors you can and even duplicates of your favorites….you never know when a color is going to be dropped…i.e. the oatmeal?

2-A210360, is the waist whittling jewel neck sweater. Those who own it know it makes you look 2 sizes smaller and for those of you who don’t….you are in for a treat. This is made in the “Whisper Knit”, so not only is it beautiful but it is easy to care for. The colors are the same as last year: Black and Pewter. Maybe if it does really well!!!! I can offer you a new color next year! LOL

THE NEW ESSENTIALS:

These are CORE pieces and the backbone of a wardrobe. These are the pieces you will go to every single day and always look pulled together. The following 4 sweaters are all made in the rayon/nylon “Whisper Knit” and all are avail. in the following colors: Black, Aubergine, a wonderful deep rich wine, Olive which works with all of my olive pieces from all seasons… old and new, and Dark Mallard Blue, which really isn’t dark at all…it’s a beautiful  saturated bright teal. These colors will work with my entire Fall collection as matching and accent pieces. Do not size up or down in any of the styles…order your normal Linea size.

3-A217628, is the classic cardigan. It is very similar to the A210437 essential cardigan from last fall. The whisper knit has a little more drape because of the softness of the knit so it follows the lines of the body. This is a great layering piece to be worn with the companion sweaters under it as well as the Kate or Robyn shirts and my new sequin sleeveless top coming in Oct. It also looks great layered under jackets. Besides matching your sweaters as sets…MIX them up! Wear the black cardigan with the olive mock neck or the fawn crew neck sweater….wear the mallard blue over black….the aubergine and olive says FALL to me. If you already own the essential black cardigan from last fall do you need another….YES. This new cardigan, for me, is perfect casual or DRESSY and would be the one I would put with my sequin skirt or any dressier bottom….you can never have enough black cardigans!

4-A217627, is the new tank.  Actually, it is the same body as the A210436…..why repeat the same body in the “Whisper Knit”??? because of the fit…everyone loves the fit and higher neckline. Also, do not think of this as a summer/spring piece only. It is a great layering piece as a vest over your shirts as well as sweaters. Remember, I showed the Aubergine tank over the Olive crew neck …under the olive brushed cotton blazer on my July show. It can really spice up and extend you wardrobe by adding an accent color.

5-A217630, is the short sleeve mock neck. For me this is a terrific layering piece under anything. I love it under the cardigan because it is light in weight and because of the short sleeve there is no added bulk. The neck line is sleek and modern and may be easier to wear for those who find a turtle neck a challenge. This is also a great sweater for my Southern ladies.

6-A217629, is the much REQUESTED V-neck long sleeve sweater! and it is a beauty. The V is not too low nor is it too high. It has a subtle shape and the drape of the knit follows the line of the body. It is great on it’s own or layered. You can wear the Mallard Blue right now with white pants and lots of gold or silver….roll up the sleeve to 3/4 length. Later on in the season……wear it with the black crew neck or mock neck and black pants.

THE NEW ITEMS:

7-A203504, is the much anticipated and much requested textured weave jacket with the ribbon and pearl emb. Getting this jacket to you was not an easy feat but here it is. It is the exact same fabric, fit and emb as the previous jacket many of you own. The difference is this jacket has LONG sleeves not 3/4 sleeves. I removed the emb from the hem of the sleeve because it would be impossible to shorten, but now they are long. I also removed the emb. from the hem of the jacket because many felt it added to the width of their hips which resulted in returns. This is a new version of the original. The colors are the original black with the black and ivory ribbons and the ivory pearls and the new PERFECTLY PINK with the p. pink and black ribbons and the p. pink pearls. It is truly stunning and in this fabric with this emb… ….the jacket at this ridiculously low price……. is amazing! This jacket could easily, IMHO ,sell for between $700 and $1200 in any high end store. Enjoy!

8-A218144, This is a simple top in a very special fabric. The top has long sleeves, a jewel neck with a keyhole opening in the back and a single button. As an added bonus it comes with a removable cowl piece that really adds drama when the blouse is worn on its own or layered. I love two for ones! The fabric is a new “pucker” fabric which is starting to show up this fall on a few designer collections such as Armani and has been used by Comme de Garcon. It is extremely directional and I have seen many new pucker  fabrics for Fall 2012. It  definitely has a modern edge and there may be some who don’t understand it….it is definitely for  Fashionistas and for women who are always on the search for the next new thing. The colors are Black, Cassis and DK. Mallard Blue. They will all work with the knit pencil skirt in the same colors ordered for Sept and the new long gored knit skirt also for Sept. and in the same colors. A heads up to all who own the eggplant/navy textured weave jacket with the eggplant and magenta ribbon and pearl emb jacket. I know many of you have searched for just the right layering pieces…well here they are. This cassis top is perfect and matches the ribbons and pearls. The texture of the pucker with the jacket takes the whole thing up to the DESIGNER level…..with the matching cassis skirt it is incredible and will give you a whole new way to wear the jacket.

9-A211602, is a new jacket in my “Signature Faux Shantung” fabric. The jacket is a little safari and a little military….my two favorite combinations. It has a stand collar, 4 patch pockets with flaps and buttons [beautiful mottled buttons], long sleeves and a self tie belt, to be used or not. This fabric tends to be a little dressy so I double stitched the whole thing and multi stitched the tie belt [a very designer touch] which makes the jacket very tailored and  more casual. I chose not to line the jacket which makes it perfect for transition. As the weather cools, layer it with a sweater or two. The colors are Olive and Sapphire Blue. I have never used this fabric in deep colors and they look marvelous and rich!  The new olive pant works great with this jacket as well as the olive cotton crop pants. I  also love it with a black belt and the black boho and later on in the season with my new long Black crushed velvet skirt for Holiday dressing. Another piece that can be worn practically year round. Of course, with jeans it look amazing.

10- A203505, is a new bold and beautiful animal leopard print topper. The fabric is my brushed cotton. The shape of the topper is that of A78354, the blazer with the french cuffs. This topper has long sleeves with a single working button and is aprox. 34 inches long for the size XS. It is also fully lined. The print is bold but the colors are soft compared to any animal print I have done in the past. The “Natural” coloration has a pale ivory, tan and fawn ground with golds, deeper tans and black accents. The second color way also has a pale ground but more of a pale sage with deeper sage, olive and black accents. The length of the jacket gives it a sort of  “rock n roll” flare……. …it’s a lot of fun and will be fun to wear. Of course the “natural” combo looks great with fawn and black and the sage combo looks great with olive and black. I also love them with the white Kate or Robyn shirts and jeans….very on trend!

11- A217972, is the new slim pant  in a new version of my rayon/poly /span gab fabric. It is slightly heavier in weight but, you probably won’t notice it. I chose this weight because I made the riding jacket in this fabric and it gave me the ability to really tailor it. The colors are Olive, Black and the new Fawn which I think is the new oatmeal and can be worn all year long. I love slim leg pants with longer tops fitted or loose…it gives a better line no matter what size you are. This is a zip front pant, contour waist band, unlined and there aren’t any pockets.

12-A217971, is the straight leg pant. It is in the same colors and fabric as above. This is a universal pant and goes with anything….silhouette wise. A straight leg pant or fuller leg pant,  looks better with shorter jackets unless you are very slim. Again, this is a zip front pant, no lining and no pockets. If you fit well in my previous contour waist pant and my side zip Capri pants ….the fit of these should be excellent for you.

I hope there are some things in my new offerings that are enticing for you and I promise to have some wonderful SNEAK PEEKS too!

………………………………….much Love to all, Louis

    Louis,
Would the cassis skirt work with the aubergine leopard jacket?

  2. Alexandra

Yes!!! Look forward to all the goodies… as usual!!! I want the straight leg pants, and the sweaters/cardigans, and other things. A question for you, Louis… when will we see the outwear????

    1. louisdellolio

      Sept…there really isn’t too much outerwear…more inside-outside wear.
      …….regards, Louis

    Louis,

In one of your earlier posts about some of your fall items, you mentioned a quilted jacket. I am so interested in that item, that I am foregoing several jackets I have seen and like, because I think I might love your version of this quilted coat…can you give me some idea when it might be available and another description/colors…

I am so looking forward to the show. I have your brown slacks that I think is the equivalent to the new straight pants and I want them all. The pucker blouse sounds exceptional as do the long sleeve v necks…

    Thanks
    Victoria

    1. louisdellolio

The quilted jacket is a diamond quilt aprox 25 inches long….has shape so it isn’t boxy….has band pockets, a band collar and is piped all over including the body seams. It is a snap front jacket, has two snaps on the sleeve and one at the curve at the side seam bottom. It has piped pocket flaps with inseam pockets. The colors are black with black piping, olive with black piping and a color called bronze which is a cross between a deep camel and tobacco. It really looks like one of the status jackets from Burburry. It is really cute and not fat looking like so many quilted jackets can be, It’s a fall jacket in the north…not a winter jacket unless you really layer it…..a great run around jacket and I like it casual or semi dressy….for a nice dinner out…it will be on my Sept show……regards, Louis

        Louis,

The description of the quilted jacket sounds absolutely luscious… I look forward to September and arm wrestling the other Linea Ladies for this fabulous jacket…Thank you so much and you and Jac drive carefully…I am in MA and tonight the Hurricane center service just said that while the force of Hurrican Irene may peter out as it moves North…New England should still be prepared for a tropical storm level rain storm here…so we’re battening down the hatches and preparing to shop Linea this weekend!

Thanks for your brillance, generosity and talent!

        best,Victoria

          Dear Louis,

I am so excited to hear about your bronze, quilted jacket. The olive looked stunning in the sneak peak. What pants do you recommended with them? I am on waitlist for the black straight pants, but have the fawn and olive on the way.

What is the length on the upcoming riding jacket? The colors are red and fawn, with black collars, is that correct?

To clarify, does the upcoming long sleeve, V neck tunic have wool in it? As does the round neck cardigan with the ribbed waist?

I thought you outdid yourself with your styling today. Can’t wait until your Sept. 12th show.

          Sincerely,

          upallnight1

A218145 is gpwing up now : “Linea by Louis Dell’Olio Essentials Petite Fly Front Straight – These Linea by Louis Dell’Olio straight leg pants have a pleated front and features elastic in each side of the waistband.”

Is the front really pleated? You never mentioned it.

Also is the only difference between petite and regular the length or other body adjustments. The regular are not listed yet and I love the 29″ length but the rest of me is regular.

    Thanks,
    Peggy

    1. louisdellolio

They are NOT pleated, Thank you for bringing it to my attention. I am not sure how the petite is fit as I am not in on the fittings, I only look at the first fit to make sure all of the style lines, proportions, details etc. are correct, so I do not know the answer to your question….sorry.

  5. Rhoda

I hate to ask you to double check another item. You might be right on this one. Is the new pucker top #A218144 as you stated or #A218114? Thank you again for answering all our questions. My list for Sunday is growing, and growing. However there are many more I want in Sept., as well. What to do, what to do??

    1. louisdellolio

No problem…you just keep checking….The number is A218144…definitely!
      …………regards, Louis

      1. Rhoda

Thank you for the quick reply. I hope your shoulder has mended nicely. There seems to be a few ladies who have had rotator cuff surgery very recently. I have had it twice a few years ago. I’ll be cheering you and Jac Sunday.

    2. louisdellolio

Thanks for asking….my should is 95%…not bad. The doc said it will take a full year to be 100%……..regards, Louis

  6. Susan (aka Carlytwila)

Hello Louis – Great to hear the details on your new shows. I have already ordered and received the shell and skirt in the dark mallard blue. It is a BEAUTIFUL color – oh my goodness!!! Will there be any jackets offered that coordinate well with this color (other than black)?
I now have an even greater appreciation for your injury earlier this year. I am recovering from rotator cuff surgery and am in a sling for 6 weeks..yuck – very painful! I have been getting a lot of use out of all the button up shirts from your line (luckily I purchased all 3 colors of the chain print blouse!) – have to still be pretty despite being in pain! Ha!)
Looking forward to watching your shows this Sunday!

    1. louisdellolio

SUSANSUSANSUSAN!!!Rotator cuff surgery is not fun! I know the routine only too well. After the six weeks is over your arm is going to be very weak so your physical therapy will be VERY IMPORTANT. I can not stress that enough. If you don’t you will diminish your full range of motion. Make sure you start putting scar cream on the incision as soon as the doctor permits. “Medederma Scar Cream” is a s good as it gets.
I do not have any jackets coming to match the mallard blue but, it’s a great accent color to grays, and browns. I have a deep purple blazer coming in Oct that it looks incredible under…..it’s a little dramatic but very beautiful……..
      ……regards, Louis

      1. Susan (aka Carlytwila)

Thanks for the tip on the scar cream! I’ll look for the deep purple blazer in October! I did pair the dark mallard with one of your brown boucle jackets (trimmed in leather) and it is gorgeous. We are going to have so much fun mixing and matching this fall! Thank you again!

P.S. I can already feel my arm starting to freeze up. This is going to be a battle to get full range of motion back…ai yi yi!

        1. louisdellolio

          Susan,
I went for my last visit to my surgeon today and he thought my rage of motion was terrific. I can’t express enough how diligent you must be with your therapy. You definitely don’t want a frozen shoulder! It takes time to come back and there will be times you are going to think you will never be the same but, with work….I am here to tell you it can be done! best regards, Louis

  7. gardensla

And, when can we expect to see a reorder of the Kate and/or Robyn shirts?

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear gardensla,
That’s a great question. I have no idea what is happening with those shirts? So far….nothing?????

      1. gardensla

I would like to say that it is completely impossible that the Q would not place a huge order for these shirts that sold out so completely (if there were returns I never got one–still on wait list for an extra navy Robyn)but they do work in mysterious ways. I’ll do my part and drop an email to corp!

        1. louisdellolio

Maybe they are planning then for the second quarter, Apr, May and June?
          ……………………LDO

  8. gardensla

LDO–what is the inseam on the new slim leg pant?

    1. louisdellolio

30 inches for the slim, 33 inches for the straight leg. Both measured from the XS samples…..Louis

      1. gardensla

So would one add extra length within the range of sizes?

        1. louisdellolio

No, my manufacturer said all sizes are the same length……sorry, LDO

  9. enjay

Louis, will you be bringing any more sweaters or tanks in fawn – other than the short sleeve shell already available? Do I remember you saying that you were bringing a new line of knits, similar to the pencil skirt? Or am I now in Linea la-la land, delirious with all the colors and choices!? (Thanks for being so patient – I need to update my Fall wardrobe with some pieces, and I would much rather they be yours.)

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Enjay,
There are no other tanks coming in Fawn. I am doing two groups of “essential” sweaters for fall. The “Whisper Knit” group which is coming on my Aug. show and in Sept I will have a new group of “essential” sweater that will be made in the acrylic/wool which is the same yarn as the knit pencil skirt you all know. There will be 3 new styles[ a long gored skirt a wonderful V-neck tunic and a crew neck cardigan with a wide ribbed waist band a la the waist whittling sweater] plus the knit pencil skirt. The colors will be cassis, dk mallard, steel gray and black……I hope this helps, regards, Louis

      1. louisdellolio

        Dear Enjay,
I want to add that there will also be additional sweaters that are not part of the essential group.

      2. enjay

Well … it doesn’t necessarily help my bank account, but it sure helps my wardrobe … and my spirits! It all sounds very exciting.

      3. Barbara in Virginia

Oh, my…I am so eager to see the Cassis color. I think it will have my name all over it. Will the crew neck cardi in Cassis work with the new pucker fabric blouse with the removable cowl? Sounds like it will be an incredible combination of textures. Thanks again! Barbara

          1. Barbara in Virginia

Thanks, Louis! I’m getting myself organized. :-). Also thinking forward to the navy pieces after the new year. Barbara

  10. designista

Hi Louis, we’re starting hurricane preparations here. I’m hoping the electricity isn’t knocked out so that I miss your presentations and ordering on Sunday. After all of this planning, that would really be upsetting. Please check the number again for the new leopard print topper; A83571 is the reorder leopard print jacket in the new aubergine color. This really isn’t beat up on Louis, but I may be ordering totally blind with the storm and the item number will be crucial. Thanks, a/k/a anonymous by QVC…quite irritating actually.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Enjay,
Let’s hope the hurricane misses you!
You are absolutely right!!! I gave you the wrong style number. The style number for the new leopard topper is…….A203505………..I will correct the blog. I don’t know, I have made so many mistakes with style numbers….I would say I was drunk…..but I don’t drink….LOL

      1. designista

You were probabably distracted by some incredible dinner that Jac was preparing and your thoughts were elsewhere.

  11. Barbara in Virginia

Hi, Louis! Would you put the new pearl trimmed jacket in black with the black long knit gored skirt? Thanks so much! Barbara

    1. Barbara in Virginia

Hmmmm…Now I can’t find where I read something you said about the long knit gored skirt. Am I imagining things ? 🙂 I hope not! Barbara

      1. louisdellolio

It’s coming in Sept. It’s the same knit and yarn as the pencil knit skirt. A few years ago I did the same skirt in the cotton/acrylic yarn. I thought it was time to bring it back and as it turns out long skirts are the “hot trend” this coming season. They will be in black, cassis, steel gray and mallard blue…………………..regards, Louis

      1. Barbara in Virginia

Thanks, Louis! I’m all about boots during the cold weather months! And I think a long knit skirt will be very cozy to wear. Barbara

  12. Yvette

Louis, I’m happy to say that I have no numbers for you to correct, lol! I just wanted to confirm that all of the new items will be available in XXS, my Linea size. I didn’t want to start picturing any (all?) of them in my closet without making sure that QVC will offer my size. I’m sooo very happy that the sizing was extended so that I could join the Linea party. Looking forward to the 28th!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Yvette,
It is my understanding that all new styles will be avail in XXS. Welcome to Linea! regards, Louis

  13. Yvonne shafer U

Louis, I’ve got my list ready! I have the new fawn and olive short sleeve tanks. D
Will they match the new cardigans? Thanks!!

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Yvonne,
The cardigan doesn’t come in fawn. The olive crew neck is a different yarn than the cardigan. They are not an exact match but very close….you can certainly wear them together……regards, Louis

  14. Peggy in Florida

I know you have mentioned it elsewhere but could you add the colors for the new items to the details. You did for the pants, but I can’t remember on the new sweaters. Thanks,

    Peggy

    1. louisdellolio

Peggy, I think they are all there which items are you missing colors for?

      1. Peggy in Florida

Sorry I missed the catchall at the beginning. Thanks.

  15. Carol

When I went back to correct my wish list with your new item numbers, I noticed that the short sleeve mock neck is out of sequence with the other ESSENTIAL sweaters, Can you check to see if it’s supposed to be A217630 instead of A217360?

Just wondering as I’m so bad with typing numbers myself. The item numbers are important for ordering at the stroke of midnight!

    crdlb

    1. louisdellolio

Carol….I did it again! You are absolutely right the number of the mock neck is A217630. I am always switching numbers. I guess that is the reason I was so bad in high school math…..I don’t know how I got through college math!!I have corrected the blog………regards, Louis

  16. louisdellolio

Dear MAKP, I have now corrected all the wrong style numbers on my blog. If you see or are confused about anything else PLEASE let me know….regards, Louis

  17. Debbie M

Louis, Thank you for the info. Will there be a separate A number for the pants in petite lengths?

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Debbie,
I am sure there will be I don’t have it but I will get it for you this week.
      regards, Louis

  18. Marcia

    Hi Louis
Will “The Turtleneck” have stock for the Steel Gray color for this show?
Everything sounds wonderful- can hardly wait to see them and your styling!
    Marcia

    1. louisdellolio

      Hi Marcia,
The steel gray was not reordered….sorry, regards, Louis

  19. designista

OHHH Louis, I’m THRILLED about the Cassis blouse to go with the Eggplant jacket with the pearls and ribbons. I still haven’t worn the outfit because I couldn’t find the right top to go with it; nothing looked right. I received the Cassis skirt yesterday and the color is glorious. And, I’ll have two more textured weave jackets; that will make the third one in Perfectly Pink. It truly is an outstanding fabric. One question: you have two items A217360, the mockneck and leopard topper, what is the other number?

    1. louisdellolio

I’m sure you will love the new cassis top.All the numbers have now been corrected sorry…..regards, Louis

  20. Rhoda

I am ready Louis. Clarification please- You indicated the same item numbers fro the classic cardigan, and the v neck sweater – A217629? You also said the classic cardigan and the new tank both have the same body as A210437. Is that correct? Lastly you state for item A217972, the new slim pant that “no there are pockets”. Does that mean there are pockets, or there aren’t pockets? Thank you so much for all the pre show details.

    1. louisdellolio

      Dear Rhoda,
Thank God I have you women to catch all of my mistakes!!! The new cardigan is like the A210437 and the new tank is the same body as the A210436. I have now corrected all the wrong style numbers on my blog. Neither of the pants have pockets…..no pockets. Thanks, again

  21. Carol

I LOVE the fit of your contour waist pants, so I’m scooping up a bunch of these new pants. Thanks so much for bringing these. All the sweaters are correctly named: ESSENTIAL. Oh my aching closet!

Looking so forward to next Sunday, even though it’s at 4 am PT……ouch.

    crdlb

    1. MAKP

Thanks for the information, but could you please clarify a couple of item numbers: It seems that A217360 is listed in your description for both the mock neck sweater and the topper; and A217629 is listed for both the cardigan and long sleeve V. Really want to get the item numbers straight since I’ll be ordering on-line well before the show airs! Thanks

      1. louisdellolio

        HI,
I have corrected the style numbers……enjoy, Louis
