“THE STONE SUEDE & KNIT JACKET”

suede jacket1

……………………….A259613……..Is The SUEDE JACKET you all have been wondering about. It will be presented on my Oct. 27th two hour show….starting at 1:00pm. ….Do I LOVE suede…..you bet I do. There is just nothing else like it….Faux suede fabrics are horrible IMHO, there are some faux leathers that are passable….but there is nothing like the REAL THING……….This new suede jacket has all the details you have come to expect with a Linea product…so let’s begin…………First, the suede is combined with the RIBBED KNIT that has become a signature since I have been combining the two fabrics for years now. I use it for two very specific reasons…One… I love the combination of textures and I think it makes a suede jacket very UNIQUE…..and second…the comfort factor is unparalleled…….The range of movement and the stretch you can get with the addition of the rib knit you simply can not get with an all suede or leather jacket. Do I like all suede and leather jackets….absolutely!, but for now I do not feel I have exhausted all of the combinations and styles using the two materials together….. …………..The  Details:The silhouette of the jacket is decidedly “TRIM”….I would say it is a semi fit because of the side knit panels…..Starting at the top there is a split STAND COLLAR, which can be converted to a MINI SHIRT COLLAR, which I think is very edgy….. The buttons on each color of each jacket where chosen to high light the color……In this case the ……..STONE SUEDE………….has an antiqued PEWTER button. All of the button holes on the jacket are BOUND, which is a much more costly and high end treatment. The pockets are SIDE ENTRY ONLY, but there is a flap with a WORKING BUTTON to give the illusion of a top entry pocket……The sleeves are in the ribbed knit so when you wear it…it will feel like a SWEATER JACKET. For those with shorter arms….just roll it up for a knit cuff….no alteration necessary!…..There is also a front and back rib knit panel for total movement and comfort…..There is a very wide suede panel in the back, which is accented with a Suede belt which has two working buttons, again with bound button holes. If for some reason you do not like the belt and decent tailor can remove it without much trouble. The jacket is lined in a DTM satin….but only the suede portions are lined. The knit is left unlined so there is no restriction. When you get the jacket home PLEASE OPEN IT and look at the workmanship of how the lining was done. ….This is not an easy task. It would have been much easier to make a full lining and put it in in one step……The jacket is approx. 25 inches long for the XS…………………………….There are many base colors you can mix with the STONE…. navy, charcoal grey, walnut, olive, wine aubergine, mahogany, clay  etc etc. Even some brighter or pastel colors look wonderful with Stone ….you just have to play. To show the jacket to you (I have chosen the two most obvious colors……BLACK and STONE. There are lots of garments and accessories in black you can mix with the Stone suede jacket to create different effects from the Linea BODY legging for the most edgy look or the SUPER PONTE Legging, A257338 in the reg length which is almost sold out, and A257343 in petite…still avail. in Black [to my surprise] in quite a few sizes. If you haven’t tried these you really should. Due to the fabric they hide a multitude of sins…….and that’s not easy to do with a legging. There is the new Slim pant in both stone and black that will be avail this month and the WK pencil skirt, A237412, is now avail in the STONE and the BLACK. For layering pieces I have chosen the SILK/CASHMERE BLEND TN, A83962, because when you are wearing suede you should go mall out LUXURY!  They just feel so good on the body!!……For the complete tonal look with either the Black or Stone WK skirt….you must have the ….ANIMAL INSTINCTS TIGHTS, A260020…….yes you can wear solid black tights and they are fine….but…..The ANIMAL INSTINCTS tights just ELEVATE the entire LOOK. I created the STONE Animal Instincts tights specifically for this WK skirt…..really….it’s too special to pass up……….To wrap the entire look up and not only add warmth, which is very practical on those windy days, but the drama of the BLACK SHAWL, A259111 can not be denied……..For less windy days the beautiful WK BLACK SCARF, A257914……………Gunmetal jewelry….and you’re off…………………………………………………………………enjoy……………………………much Love…………………………………………Louis

Louis, please tell me how close this is to the Latte WK. In case there’s no tank in Stone coming, I’d like to pick one up in latte, IF it works.

Love the buttons, a fresh change from zips. Shirt jacket look. Cute.

    Thanks.

There isn’t a tank coming in stone, but there is a great short sleeve jewel neck ENR sweater coming in Jan. that matches the stone skirt and pant. Latte doesn’t match….maybe the taupe shell that went with the boyfriend cardigan would be better, but I’ll have to check when I get back from QVC tomorrow.

Perfect, I’ll just wait until Jan. then. Forgive me, didn’t realize you were traveling. Have a wonderful show.

That would be GREAT news…then all these pieces (second photo from left ) might look good layered under my TAUPE SUPER PONTE KNIT jacket…not to mention the SPK TAUPE LEGGINGS ! Yes !!!

p.s. Have a wonderful day, Louis,

and please, if you have time let us know if any other STONE pieces–shawl, turtle neck, etc.–are coming our way.

There are but I can’t remember what…..some in Jan too….plus the reversible fabric/fur walking coat.

Let me just say that I learned my lesson. I bought Dennis Basso’s washable suede moto jacket and loved it but thought I should wash it before the 30 days were up. OMG…all I can say is that it was HORRIBLE! Never again!!! It went back immediately and I tried everything to make it look right but nothing worked. From now on only the real thing and only Linea!

Dear gk27….washable suede s can be very tricky. The quality has to be very good to begin with, because they can loose their color and get stiff. I did one for QVC. It was a beauty, but the price of the good quality washable suede has gotten very high.

Speaking of high quality, I wore your A238539 leather jacket from last year to a breakfast this morning and like always, I got compliments. Thank you!

I have that washable suede “car coat” with the knit sleeves in the teal and it looks every bit as good now as when I first bought it–and it’s been carefully washed several times. There are a few on e-bay, if anyone’s interested.

YES, YES, YES! Love this elegant color, STONE. Can’t wait to wear as an indoor jacket this fall and winter with all stone and/or black and come spring as an outside jacket worn with ivory and stone and lots of pearls. You are the best.

As a poster noted on the forum under New Poncho; she quipped “Louis is the head poncho”. Did you realize that?
