” No Winter White”

I got the word…..the jacket would have to be $14 more in Winter White, so a reorder price can not be changed…..therefore….no winter white…..Other color suggestions please…..so far some sort of gray or brown seem to be the leaders. Id also love red, but we already have the brick so they won’t buy two colors so close…..I am loving the idea of a color like Royal Purple from the WK or Petrol Blue….Magenta????? I would also love Taxi Cab yellow or antique Rose….deeper than the Pink coat, but I don’t think I would sell many…….anyone like any of those????

Hi, Louis! Just a caution on the Taxicab Yellow. While it would be very striking, very few women can successfully wear that color right under their face. (About a third of the population as I remember.) I and other cool under-toned women would look positively jaundiced and ready to be rushed to the ICU! Such a shame as I love yellows:-(. Raspberry in the Pea Jacket seemed to be very popular! Unless you want a color other than in the red family.

As much as I’d love a taxi cab yellow coat, I’ve nixed it

However there is a simple remedy….a red scarf.

Yes, as long as you can get it right up under your face! Cardinal and Straw are my sorority’s colors :-), so I have a special place in my heart for them.

I would also like to put my vote in for taxi cab yellow. I like the idea of a pop of color as the weather turns cold and a bit dreary.

Could I also ask….would it be possible to order A236138 (suede zip front jacket) in any additional colors? I love the jacket and purchased it in all three colors (spruce green, topaz and walnut). In fact, I was wearing the walnut jacket this weekend with some of my other Linea pieces when a man came up and asked me where I had purchased my jacket. He wanted to get one for his wife for Christmas. I sent him to the Linea page on QVC and told him that I was sure his wife would love her present!

    Thank you, Louis.

Dear Michele…that’s for being an inspiration and a wonderful ambassador….I’m sure you made that guy’s day…..never knowing what to get for Jac….TRUE….you made his life a lot easier. Unfortunately, that jacket hasn’t been reordered so there will not be any new colors offered.

      1. Michelle

Louis, thanks for the quick response. I will just be sure to treasure my jackets even more than I do already, knowing that they will not be reordered. And I was very happy to be an Linea ambassador. Actually, I was thinking that I was probably saving some lovely woman from bad perfume or a vacuum cleaner this Christmas!

Taupe/could this jacket be done in a print?a dark muted print? Still like a taupe or rich brown?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

No…a reorder has to be in thew exact fabric….no changes….a print would be an extreme change.

I agree with you on the “taxi cab yellow” . That would be beautiful with blacks, greys, browns.
I recently saw a picture in a catalogue of that color in real wool with a mandrin collar
and was a swing coat. $$$$
Sorry to hear it’s not being done in the winter white. I was really hoping.
I have purchased 3 white/winter white ciats from Q and all went back.
    One to tight in shoulders
One too short in sleeves and
One made me look like the Michelin(?) woman
I vote for the taxi/ dandelion yellow OR a pretty pink like your wing collar shirt
    but a bit deeper

Thanks for asking us, Louis. I LOVE the idea of a taxicab yellow short coat. That’s a great look over all black with a houndstooth scarf. Or even over navy. LOVE!!!!!!! I also like the idea of magenta. It would give the same “pow” effect as the yellow and would work for those who prefer to wear cool colors. I’d have to buy both! Bright pops of color are so happy in the winter months. My third choice would be camel, though I tend to prefer that in a more traditional coat or jacket.

  6. Julie

I would prefer a plum or eggplant shade over purple.

    1. Kate

      Lovely color choice!!

      1. Louis Dell'Olio

Mahogony? As the shirt WK sweater?

        1. Kate

That would be very elegant and super wearable.

        2. Julie

Yes I LOVE that Mahogany color WK!

  7. Judi

I love the neutral palette (and black!). I would love to see a camel, oatmeal, or the Burberry Honey.
I, too, am taking very good care of my boucle/leather.It feels so elegant and is made so well.
I’m very bummed out by the end of the WK pants and the super ponte leggings. I was able to snag another pair of the black super leggings the other day at 6AM. They must have been a return, but I’m happy.
It seems as though everyone loved the super ponte. If, perhaps, the other color would have been a dark……….. Also, the measurements didn’t appeal to everyone. Petite people were buying the regular because of the inseam, and the inseam on the petite was much too short. Such is life!

Burberry does a neutral called “Honey” that would be lovely, and I’m always up for olive-drab. I saw a few coats in a rich coral recently (I think Akris?) that made me happy.

    1. Susan (aka CarlyTwila)

I agree that Honey sounds very nice…perhaps as close to winter white without requiring an upcharge? What color would that be? Apart from that, I would suggest Mahogany, Olive, Walnut or Magenta would be lovely too.
I have this coat in the brick red and it is comfy and warm. I really like it, but I like last year’s boucle coat even better (especially if it had long sleeves).

      1. Kate

I have last year’s boucle coat in red which I like. If it had long sleeves and came in black I would have loved it!

  9. WNYgal/April

I’m sure I’m the lone wolf here, but with the new biography out on Elsa Schiaparelli, I’d love to see it in shocking pink w/gunmetal buttons. What a look!

  10. gk27

    Purple would be stunning.

  11. Dariann

    Antique rose!

  12. enjay

Walnut, espresso, or whatever brown shade is closest to A83959 – the boucle, leather-trimmed jacket that I adore – and still wear all the time! A swing jacket in that color would be a classic.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear April….Me TOO…..but it may be too limited

    2. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Enjay….now that jacket was a gem….I can’t part with my samples. Real leather and the original boucle was an incredible combination…..just goes to show you how much everything has increased in price….that jacket, as is, today would retail for at the very least $250 to $300, and that’s the very least.

  13. diane bloch

Louis- I think the royal purple and Petrol Blue are great ideas. They would go so well with this year’s WK. A deep charcoal would be great, too. I finally ordered the clear beads yesterday. Patience is a virtue- now will I get the WL swing tunics and
mosaic tile prints? Let’s hope so.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Diane….I know you will love the beads….they really are beautiful…..the swing tunic????? I don’t know if you will…..I think you may have a better chance with the print……people change their minds about prints more so than solids….even if it is a magnificent one……fingers crossed!

  14. Jane J.

Hi Louis, A swing style jacket is not for me, but I would love to see A238159, the button front closure boucle jacket from last year, but this time with LONG sleeves, in colors like dark charcoal, black, and — love — Magenta!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jane……I find it very interesting what styles make it and which don’t. Every time I do a swing-ish style jacket it sells and reorders….case in point the cotton Houndstooth Check swing jacket reordered FIVE times….that’s five years in a row, and I still get requests for more colors, but we have finally put it to rest. The jacket you and I both love from last year didn’t fair so well. It did well up to size M, but that was it, and I think it was a great jacket for larger women as long as they didn’t buy it too small…..then it doesn’t work…to look right it has to have room to drape properly…if only I had a crystal ball!

      1. Jane J.

Yes, I find it very interesting as well. I have that boucle jacket in cobalt and the red and love them (altho I would have liked long sleeves even better). I am a 2x and 5’9″ and I thought the style was perfect — not too much fabric and I never felt the vibrant colors were “too much” for a larger size. Maybe being taller I was better able to carry it off. On the other hand, a swing style jacket makes me feel huge. It must be such a challenge for you since there are so much body types to be accommodated. I guess you just have to chalk it up to the fact that not every style works for everyone. One thing for sure — we all really appreciate your creativity in bringing us such beautiful clothes.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Jane I do have to say the swing is more of an A-Line than a real swing with lots of bottom flare.
