“IT’S 2015…LET THE SNEAK PEEKS BEGIN”

WK cardigan5

…………It’s a NEW YEAR….2015…….Happy New Year everyone! I pray this year is going to bring you lots and lots of good things……GOOD HEALTH to you and your family….GOOD FRIENDS to help you enjoy the good times, and to support you through the not so good times……..and hopefully a few Linea items that bring a smile to your face and help you to feel good about yourselves during the year ahead!…………………………………..

My first SNEAK PEEK for 2015 is …..THE QUILTED JACKET……A259102…….The color above is…..NAVY….The sizing is SML…..This a KNIT fabric, and the quilting is knitted INTO the fabric. It is not an embroidered quilted pattern. Quilting, in all manners, will be even more popular this year than last…..and the years before….remember my QUILTED VEST from two or three years ago?….What separates this quilted fabric from many of the others is the addition of the TINY CONTRAST DIAMONDS that are knitted into the pattern, as you can see above. I love it because it gives the look of a mens’ FOULARD ….a very “Haberdasher Look”……again, mixing the masculine with the feminine……What I also love about this jacket in this particular knit fabric is…..it can go very dressy or very CASUAL, so it should easily fit into anyone’s lifestyle. I would consider the jacket shaped or semi- fitted, and because it is a knit fabric I made it UNLINED to provide maximum comfort, stretch, and to extend it’s wearing life into late spring early summer [depending where you live]. Therefore, I would recommend buying your normal Linea size, but always look at the “CLICK HERE MEASUREMENTS ” provided to you by QVC…..The jacket is approx 25 1/2 inches long for the XS…..It has snap out SHOULDER PADS. The front is closed with SIX GUNMETAL SNAPS. I prefer the jacket closed with just one or two near the waist or one near the neck and the others open….This is something you can play with to create different looks. There are real pockets under the flaps which also close with the snaps. The jacket has front and back body seams….starting at the shoulder and ending at the hem. Top Stitching is used to define the shirt collar,  the body seams, and to accentuate  the shape of the jacket. The sleeve is long but has a CURVED SLIT that can be turned back to create a cuff….so for those with shorter arms this is ideal……It also gives you the opportunity to show the sleeve of the shirt or the sweater you are wearing.  Above, I have it worn with the WHITE WING COLLAR SHIRT, A259103, which has been reordered just in case you missed it the first go around…or if you want to pick up a second or third….just to have…….Paired with jeans and the shirt or any T-shirt or sweater you may already own is decidedly casual……………Paired with the…….NAVY/IVORY PINSTRIPE PANT…..A259099 reg.,  or A259098 for petite…..shown above, and you are ready to go to the office, lunch, dinner etc etc……The MIX OF PATTERNS is a very  DESIGNER, POLISHED and yes….”handsome” way to look. Handsome….describing a woman….. can be a good thing……Switch the pant out with the WK NAVY SKIRT, A253411, and the NAVY LACE BACK TIGHTS, A260032, [mixing the masculine and feminine again]…..and you have one fabulous pulled together look….Come spring….an ivory ponte skirt or pant, and maybe some red pumps or spectator navy and ivory heels and again, you are ready for anything. Knowing my wife she will wear it with an IVORY WK , her jeans [in the pictures] and her 6 HOLE LACE UP CONVERSE SNEAKERS…in NAVY, RED, YELLOW, GREEN……you name the color…she has them….LOL………………….As with anything I offer you…you must make it your own and wear it and style it the way it pleases you….I’m only here to suggest…………………………………………………………enjoy…………………….much Love…………………………Louis

    Happy New Year!

Love this Jacket – it is perfect! Love – the Sleeves with the split cuff – the length (even though I am Tall I do not like really long Jackets) – the knit-in quilting & diamonds – the snaps – everything – and both colour options are fantastic!

Can’t wait for your January 30th Shows!

Your sneak peek on the show with Leah was a real convincer. I’m going to have both colors because it’s just that good. Going to wear with coordinating t-necks and jeans.

I had a giggle over your use of “handsome” to describe a woman. Do you remember when Happy Rockefeller (Nelson’s wife) was always described that way? Many times when reading this frequent descriptor used on her, I wondered if she thought it was a compliment. Of course it is, and many women with wonderful features and a certain style are accurately described as handsome.

    1. Goldie76

Katharine Graham, the former “Washington Post” publisher, was also “handsome.”

      1. Grace

        As was Eleanor Roosevelt.

These were not beautiful women. Actually, Katharine Graham in her youth wasn’t bad…..I was referring more to a stye of clothing, not facial features…These women did not dress handsomely. In the case of these women, calling them handsome was like saying they had good personalities…..LOL Katherine Hepburn did however dress handsomely.

Katherine Hepburn–Now THERE was a lady who knew how to carry
herself, dress like a million bucks and WHAT an actress!!
I have ALWAYS admired her and copied her style often, though was
            never a match .
Loved her in “Summertime”! My favorie movie, second to”On Golden Pond”

            1. Grace

I also admire Katherine Hepburn and think she was beautiful. She was not only a smart, talented actress, but a woman of fierce independence in the way she lived and the way she dressed. Loved her in “African Queen” and “Adam’s Rib”–the chemistry with Spencer Tracy was legendary, of course. I’m thinking she was so ahead of her time in her style of dress, she surely inspired many designers…

Oh my, this jacket is “love at first sight” for me! It’s the perfect transitional jacket to dress up or down & it will be the first thing I pack for a trip. But, I also think my daughter will absolutely love it for the polka dot vibe. It’s so preppy and I can see her mixing/matching with so many patterns, like stripes, checks & plaids. We’ll likely wear them in our own way, but I think these are perfect mother/daughter jackets!

Icy, messy NH morning today Louis. Hope it is more temperate where you are. Wondering if you might be able to give us an approximate month when you expect the wing collar blouse to return. I missed it last go round. Don’t want to miss is again.

    Happy New Year Louis!!

Both jackets look wonderful!! Will they be in letter or numerical sizing?

    Regards,
    Chris

Well, what a wonderful surprise this early Sunday morning! We set the alarm, got up early to pop Jac’s bread in the oven, and I sat down to check email, to find this absolutely perfect jacket peek. And in 2 of my favorite colors as well … spring, cool summer evenings, early fall … in a suitcase, a restaurant or wherever … dressed up for town, dressed down for playing trains on the chilly floor … this one will be in my wardrobe in both colors, and maybe a spare navy … THANK YOU LOUIS!

P.S. The bread is out of the oven, the house smells divine as promised, and Walter, who just came in from clearing the walks, has pronounced a small sample “The best thing I ever ate” … MANY MANY THANKS to dear Jac, please :)))))

….I will let her know….she will be soooo happy…mine is gone boo hoo….now i have to wait a whole year!!!

      1. Cathy in PA

I did let Jac know, and thank her on Facebook but … I doubled the recipe, and made 4 medium sized braided mountains from mine, so we’d have loaves to share, so each loaf is not as big as yours was, but did rise incredibly light and high. They look fabulous, and taste just as good as Jac said, and the smell was incredible. Wish I could share one with you over the internet LOL 🙂

Cathy, Please post the recipe for Jac’s breakfast bread for those of us who aren’t on Facebook. It sounds amazing!

      1. Shari

Yes!! Please do! Not all of us do facebook and
I also would love the recipe.
