“THE STONE SPACE DYED DRAPED TOP AND GORED SKIRT”

nov jewelry8

………..A wonderful fabric to transition from Fall to Spring is the SPACED DYED, 48% rayon, 48% polyester and 4% spandex jersey knit. Due to the content, this is a very drapy SOFT fabric. It feels wonderful against the skin…I am offering this fabric in two styles and two colors, above being STONE, which is a combination of STONE, BLACK and WHITE.

The TOP, A257313, has a draped front creating a V-neckline. It is 23″ long. It has PRINCESS seams to diminish and control the fullness at the sides which can sometimes, in tops like this,  have  too much fabric when it’s not controlled properly. There is also a dropped waist seam where the draping of the top ends….so there is no unwanted fullness below the waist….keeping the tummy flat is perfect for the top to be worn out or tucked in. Whether this is a top for your particular body type I will leave up yo you. Personally, I think it looks good on all figure types….whether you are full busted or not. You can adjust the draped fabric to show less or reveal more. For those of you who want extra coverage and protection I recommend my RAYON/SPAN tank, A229468, in STONE or BLACK..or Olive….which is a FABULOUS tank. There wasn’t much chatter about this tank top….but….it quietly SOLD OUT and has been reordered…..a simple little light weight tank that will come in very handy all year long. You can never underestimate the importance of these “core” pieces. I will give you a hint when wearing this top….After putting it on…give the front a good TUG from the bottom hem. This will force the fabric to drape properly to YOUR body. Also, if you choose to wear it tucked into a pant or skirt such as the matching skirt for a two piece look….a GOOD TUG will anchor everything in place. With a skirt…reach under the skirt and tug it all the way around for a nice taunt look.

THE SKIRT, A257314, is a six gored pull-on skirt with a full elastic waist. The elastic has a top stitch through the center to prevent any twisting or turning. The skirt is approx 32″ to 33″ depending where you place the waist band. For those who need it shortened….it’s very easy to alter. The skirt is UNLINED which will make it a great skirt to wear now with tights and boots, and in the spring /summer with tanks and sandals. The silhouette is definitely a swing style, but not too much. The fabric is light and the skirt has great MOVEMENT.

As you can see from the photos above, there are many ways to wear these pieces besides a two piece dress. The top looks wonderful with the STONE WK PENCIL SKIRT, A237412 and the STONE ANIMAL INSTINCTS tights…..Black bottoms for sure………….Mix the skirt with the new STONE WK S/S SWEATER, a257382 and the STONE SUEDE JACKET, A259613……Another wonderful look is…the skirt with your STONE SWING WK SWEATER, A259620………All GUNMETAL or SILVER or BLACK jewelry will work. I love the GRAY FREE FORM BEAD and METAL RING NECKLACE, A317652, with the  Stone color,  and especially with these pieces. The GUNMETAL reversible cross, on the metal side with the black jet stone center, or the crystal side…. is a quiet and subtle accessory to accent and  compliment this outfit beautifully………..Build your wardrobe by adding pieces that mix and match and accent with what you have. These are timeless, ageless pieces that will last and last……piece by piece putting it all together………..Remember, the important thing is……..these pieces will transition well into early summer…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………enjoy……………………..much Love……………………………..Louis

Louis, is the fit of tis draped top similar to the FABULOUS python print draped tops you did a few years back? (One of my all-time favorites, purchased in all colors and muliples for back-ups!) This looks like the midriff band might pose an issue for those of us with tummy “issues.” The python print didn’t have such a band, so wondering if the upper drape might be able to adjust to drape over the top of the midriff band?– BLINDDOGS

Dear Nancy…I no longer have those samples, but as you say there was no bottom band on those tops. What I will say is the band at the bottom is not tight….so if you can wear any basic sweater that is flat at the bottom, as most are, than this should cause no problem.
