“THE BLACK TUNIC”

bread9

…………………………A254439, the RAYON/SPAN JERSEY TUNIC is back in stock and ready for ordering. I think this has become one of my most popular….most asked for tops, and I believe there are three main reasons for that……First….The Fabric…..This is a very high quality RAYON JERSEY, that I have used many many times for tops, skirts, dresses and bodysuits, and every time I use it the first comment is “I love the fabric”. This is not a flimsy thin fabric, and it does not pill! There are 48 FIVE STAR reviews on this top and all state they love the quality and FEEL of the fabric….It dyes beautifully and stands up to many washings without looking old, faded and abused…..Second……The Fit……If you read the reviews you will see that all sizes, shapes and heights of women have loved this tunic. It has SHAPE and fits where you want a garment to fit and flows just enough to cover what you want covered…..without looking like your TRYING to COVER something……it’s very figure FLATTERING…… The length and the neckline are perfect….. the armhole is perfect too, and that’s coming from you…..All of the measurements can be found on the Linea QVC site…….Third…..The Style…..which is the most important aspect of all……If you don’t like the style…the fit and fabric are of little consequence. This tunic has a tank top with a flared bottom. The top has bust dart for shape and a better fit. There is a raised seam to give the bodice of the tunic a better fit and shape also. Why the raised seam and not a waist seam. For one…. everyone has a different measurement from their high point shoulder [the point where the neck and the shoulder meet] to the waist. There is a standard measurement but many women are not the standard. Also….to create a longer, leaner proportion…the top portion of the garment should not be the same length as the bottom portion. When the bottom portion is longer the effect is a longer body…..The hem is slightly asymmetrical which can also create the illusion of length…..The neckline and armholes are piped for a clean finish……………..Those are the three reasons I believe this top is so sort after…..you may have your own reasons why you like it so much…..I know this has become Jac’s go to top all year long………This top can be as casual as you want worn with leggings, crop pants and Carpi pants….sandals, wedges, slides, Birkens etc etc………or as dressy as the event calls for. I have shown it above with the MOSS CREPE SKIRT, A262454, for a two piece dress look……but you can mix it with many different skirts…the ZIG ZAG, A265559 being one option. Worn with slim black pants and heels will give you the tallest look you can achieve…………Accessorize as you wish……..I have chosen two strands of my GUNMETAL BEADS, J296893, and the GUNMETAL TAPERED HOOP, J317111 with the BLACK CRYSTALS….if you prefer a more understated earring the GUNMETAL BALL STUD, J317109 works with everything, and it comes in a set of four must have colors….of course ther are many options for Gunmetal earrings in the Linea Jewelry collection for you to chose from……Not in the picture, my GUNMETAL WATCH, J270046……………………BLACK IS BACK……there is nothing like a figure flattering black top to make a woman feel confident………….enjoy…………much Love………………..Louis

Hi Louis, Would this top look good with the feather jersey pants? I’m asking because of the “flowy” factor…I have the pants in smoke & hemp & am thinking I could get this top in black to wear with them, but the legs have a lot of fabric to them. Would a narrower leg pant be better? Thanks for your fashion advice!

The feather jersey pants would look fine, because they are drape, of course skinny pants would work too, but wide leg pants would work too.

That’s great, I am going to order the black top now, thanks!

Louis, I have this ‘swing’ tank tunic in all the colors from last season and just ordered the grey. It was the fabulous fit and flare of this summer tunic that set off my radar when you first sneak-peaked the WK swing sweater for fall– and which was such a success with the Linea Ladies. This design absolutely flatters every figure, especially for those of us with mid-section issues. For summer in rayon-span and sleeveless, or WK with sleeves for winter: this is a WINNER!

I am thrilled that this summer ‘swing’ tunic will be re-styled with sleeves for fall. Especially in transitional seasons, or for ladies in warmer climates, sometimes you need a lighter alternative to WK. Could you PLEASE advise on the colors that will be coming for fall in the sleeved version of this swing top? Thanks so much for all you do for us– Blinddogs

Dear Nancy….the colors will be light Rasberry, slate blue and black…..but….it won’t be avail until November. Don’t worry there will be many items with this type of silhouette coming this fall including a newly developed lighter weigh WK. the first being the “swing cardigan”. It will have a classic V neckline and the same body as the swing sweater…..it’s fabulous, and will be avail in July for pre fall selling.

Louis, just when I think I have overdosed on WK and must go into WK ‘rehab,’ you come up with still more glorious designs to keep me on the WK bandwagon. I can’t wait to see these new ‘swing’ designs!–Blinddogs

I will tell you one is the cardigan…..and one is a TN

        A swing TN? Holy smokes!

          My sentiments exactly, Kate!– Blinddogs

Hmm….don’t understand that one. I have the long skirt in three colors and it’s my favorite. Looking forward to the the fall version in the top.

Me either….I wanted to do pants in it but it was turned down, so I’m trying them in Moss Crepe. They may fare better.

I went back to read the reviews for the skirt A252354, and was shocked! I had to wonder if they received the same items that I did. I have had no problem with see through, and I don’t wear a slip. No problem with the waist bands either and I’ve worn them a lot. That’s really discouraging it’s such a great fabric and sooo cool in hot weather.

I have the skirts/tanks in all three colors and love the fabric and like you, designista, I don’t understand the complaints about the fabric at all–no see-through and so cool in hot weather. However, many of the negative reviews were about the length. I think QVC characterizing the skirt as a “maxi” (with a photo showing a maxi length) when it hit inches above the ankle to mid calf was unfortunate.

I had the same reaction you did and this was after I did a print dress in this fabric that blew out and was reordered within the same season, which NEVER happens!A222262 was the style number. Maybe you remember it? It was a sort of Hawaiian print floral. No complaints at all with that one….and it had n ivory background????

Have that dress in three colors; chartreuse, orchid and black, but was thinking that was feather jersey…maybe not? but another great summer fabric that bit the dust because of questionable reviews.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

It is Feather Jersey and it was the success of that dress that convinced us to do the fabric in a bigger story, but then there was this negative turnaround so we gave it up to my disappointment.

I was also surprised at the negative comments on the Rayon/Span fabric. It’s one of my real favorites — it has an elegant drape, and is cool and breathable here in our Deep South heat and humidity! I really relied on the long skirt and matching tank last summer (have multiples in Black), and am looking forward to them again.

Love this top and the knit, have it in three colors and just ordered the two new ones. Any chance there are capris coming too in the rayon/span? Anything else coming in this knit?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Yes, but for fall…..basically this top with sleeves. When I’ve don bottoms in the fabric the complaint was it was too light??? So I doubt Capri pants would go over too well.
