SNEAK PEEK #5

“Sneak Peek #5,  is a new Whisper Knit essential, A221796! It has a beautiful ballet neckline and 3/4  length sleeves. It is SLIGHTLY shaped to avoid being boxy. The XS is 24 inches long. What I love about this sweater and what makes it distinctive from other classic sweaters of this type, [if you could find them], is the width of the tubular bands that trim the neckline and hems of the sleeve and bottom of the sweater. Instead of doing very narrow bands or the usual 1 inch bands I have chosen to do aprox. 1 and 3/4 inch bands that really frame the sweater and give it importance……a subtle designer detail but an important one. Again, this is a sweater you can wear all year and it never has to be store away. This is the perfect sweater for layering or wearing on its own, and it is the perfect sweater for accessorizing  as you can see from the photos. Wear it dressed up or casual with jeans, Capri pants, Boho skirts, shorts etc.. The colors are Ivory, a true RED and my signature Navy which is deep and dark. Three essential colors in one essential shape. I know you will get years of pleasure wearing this sweater………………………………………………………………………………………………………………much Love, Louis

    Louis,
As the other Ladies have said, these sweaters are perfection– like Audrey Hepburn style, with capris. I also ask for more colors and of couse spruce green would be at the top of my list.

Also, will there be re-orders and/or new colors of the V-neck whisperknit sweater (NOT the longer v-neck in acrylic blend) coming anytime soon? I absolutely love this sweater and wear it so much in the olive color I’m afraid I’ll wear it out!– Blinddongs

  3. ninjasmom

  4. Barbara

The sweater in all three colors and what perfect colors…here I go again with Linea sweaters…yes!

  5. Mary

Are those new winter white pants pictured with the black sweater and the red sweater in the upper right of the picture? Or will you make me cry and tell me they’re no longer available?

  6. Mary

You are killing me with the jewelry! The sweater is on my list, but it’s that jewelry that has me mentally searching for a 2nd job. I LOVE THOSE GOLD CHAINS! I could work nights and weekends…

    Hi Louis,

Oh, what can I say that hasn’t already been said? This sweater is absolutely fabulous, and this I MUST have in all three colors!

I’d love to see future colors of Spruce Green, Perfectly Pink, and … Espresso?

Regarding fit as this new sweater says “slightly fitted”: In the Turtlenecks I needed 2X instead of my usual 3X, which was too big all over. The 2X fit is still generous on me, even after laundry; based on that the two Bow Neck Sweaters I ordered in 2X are perfect as well. I’m a “pear”; would you still say stay with the 2X as in the other 2 sweaters, or is this one truly more “fitted”? I KNOW these won’t last long enough for me to re-order LOL.

Oh, and I loved that fish necklace too; and the story even more … when we were in the Caribbean last winter with our little grandson, a little baby manta ray was swimming around our feet, and we watched a sea turtle from our balcony; enchanting and happy memories 🙂 THANKS!

Louis – This sweater will definitely be on my list. I love the neckline! I truly cannot get enough of the whisper knit – just love it. I, like the others, am enamored with the fish necklace. I love how they curl around at the bottom! The story just makes it even better. Wish you could find a way!

The most difficult part is deciding what color to eventually order. Love boatneck tops!

  10. Sherry

Hi, love the peeks…the clothing is just wonderful. Question…are those new white pants shown with the blue and red sweaters?
    Thanks for all you do.

      Dear Sherry,
No, they are my winter white pants from a few seasons ago…..Louis

Gorgeous! An elegant backdrop for your jewelry. Truly an essential. You know we’re going to want perfectly pink, too.

They are very delicate pieces and are held together with very fine chain which makes them so flexible. They would never pass QVC QA and because there are so many parts and each fish has stone eyes on each side of the head [in case they flip] it would be a $400 necklace today. I would be afraid of breakage and high returns……..didn’t mean to tease….just inspire…..Louis

What is the story with the FISH NECKLACE and matching earrings??????????????? Please tell me that it is not vintage!! It is wonderful and imaginative and I want it now! The sweaters are wonderful too, and good to wear in the South for at least half of the year…more must-have essentials.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

      Dear designista,
So glad you like my “School of Fish ” necklace and my “Catch of Fish” earrings. They are vintage AK and there IS a story behind them. Jac and I were away on vacation in the Caribbean and I was standing in the water when this school of very small fish swam right over my feet……the necklace was born. I also have a large fish pendant on a chain, a school of fish belt and assorted styles of fish earrings. The way the necklace is made would be to expensive to make for QVC and I’m not sure I could even get a manufacturer to make it again at any price. All the parts are moveable so it is very liquid. I was also laying in a hammock under palm trees and the sun kept peaking through the leaves….that gave me the idea for a palm leaf necklace and long earrings….those were the days when you had an idea and it could come true without costing hundreds or thousands of dollars………but the sweaters are great!!!….Louis

Your story makes me want the fish collection even more…how romantic, and the palm collection too. Any chance that you could try having samples made? They are just too wonderful for words.

  13. Susie (aka Sammijo)

Wonderful! I absolutely love this style of sweater – the bateau neckline elongates the neck and is perfect for all kinds of jewelry, not to mention jackets or sweaters. These style tops are indeed hard to find anywhere and look so French! Navy mosaic boho, ivory (or navy) essential bateau sweater, sandals and maybe a bicycle with a basket on the front and a bagette sticking out. Time to plan that summer trip to France! Thank you, Louis, for reading our minds! Now, how about this in spruce? LOL! (We always want more, don’t we?)

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Love the image of the bicycle with a woman in capri pants, sandals, the basket and most importantly the bagette……maybe a bouquet of wild flowers.

    YUM! Love Love Love!

    Oh Louis, Louis, Louis,
I definitely need this new essential in my wardrobe in all the colors. I would love some of those necklaces, especially the one with a hanging circle and some balls near its bottom. Would you say order the boatneck in the same size as the turtlenecks? BTW, what is the item number for this new essential?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

I would say you could order the same size as the T neck….OOPs I didn’t put the style number, I’ll have to go back and insert it…..A221796.

  16. MH-MN

This is perfection. I’m in for all colors! Item number, please? (… and thank you, thank you, thank you!)

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Sorry, I forgot to post it in the blog…..just went back and entered it, A221796.

      1. MH-MN

#1 (times 3 colors) on my list! I already want more colors. 😉

  17. Nancy

Oh Louis! I adore that neckline~~ so beautiful.
Now all I want are some of those fish necklaces! WOW
I can’t wait to see these in person.
