I have chosen the LINEA PONTE WINE MAXI SKIRT, A239318, to be my last color presented…….because……I wanted to illustrate how VERSATILE a COLOR can be. I know some of you will automatically look for the matching top, but that limits the wide range of possibilities ………so………..I took the exact same accessories…………..THE CROSS NECKLACE in WINE, J271859…………..THE COORDINATING STATION NECKLACE in the same WINE, J271861….. a wine CROCODILE BELT…and dressed the form with the WINE PONTE SKIRT and all the same accessories….except…..I changed the  color and styles of the WK SWEATERS………………The result is the “LOOKS”….look totally different! This, my friends, is an exercise in how to play with………………COLOR………….I used the DARK MALLARD BLUE WK TURTLE NECK, A72448, and the A237387,  TOPAZ SHAWL COLLAR SWEATER, and created two fabulous looks……………………DO NOT BE AFRAID TO MIX COLORS…………….YOU do yourselves a great disservice when you feel insecure unless it matches……..I love that COLUMN OF COLOR as much as you do, but you also want to get as much wear from your clothes as possible……that requires you to MIX as well as MATCH. I can list a slew of colors I would put with this wine skirt but I’d rather hear from you….what colors you would mix with the wine. It doesn’t matter if it’s classic like OLIVE, or outrageous like TURQUOISE………….and I could use the same accessories as I have above and it would all still work….so imagine all the possibilities when you change colors and accessories……………………………………………..the mind boggles……………………………………but that’s the FUN OF DRESSING!!!!!!……………………………………………………………..

I was just looking at the photos of the designer shows for  “PRE FALL 2014″………………and doesn’t Oscar de la Renta have  a series of dresses with the exact same bottom! So for those of you who were worried that the asymmetrical hem will be short lived….I can tell you from what I have seen….it will be going on for quite some time. I think the Linea Ponte dress above, A238536, would be a perfect choice for many Holiday occasions coming up…..from office parties, gatherings with friends, Christmas concerts etc etc. and the A229475, seamed jacket in Malachite, is the perfect jacket to go with it…….even the Malachite boucle topper looks wonderful over this dress………………….

……………………VIOLET…………is a wonderful alternative to the classic Holiday colors and again, the A229475, seamed jacket in VIOLET is a perfect match. It is so custom and such a “DESIGNER LOOK’ to have a dress and jacket, in TWO DIFFERENT FABRICS, that match……………very difficult to do……that’s why it has that special designer look. Unfortunately, the multi glass bead necklace is sold out, but gold or silver will also make a strong impact…….scroll down………………………………much Love …………………Louis

……………………….When in doubt…………….wear BLACK…………….this is the perfect dress for ACCESSORIES………..scarves, pins, bracelets, earrings, but most of all NECKLACES. Any of my new 72 inch long GLASS FACETED BEAD NECKLACES in the GREY, BRONZE, CLEAR or JET will look incredible on this black dress. Wear them doubled, tripled or quadrupled for the effect you want. Of course my favorite combination is definitely GOLD & BLACK. A pair of black suede boots with either black SHEER or opaque tights will finish the look…..even the right patterned tights could look very festive! ………………………………………………………………………….

There’s a Sondheim song, “Putting it together”, that always comes to mind when I start a collection….”bit by bit”…..”piece by piece”….”putting it together”…….”to create a work of art”. For me that is the way to build a wardrobe of clothing…..and that’s how you build a wardrobe of jewelry……piece by piece…..so when you put it all together it becomes something special….something unique. In the photos above you can start to see what I mean by putting it together piece by piece, bit by bit, from different seasons and different collections…..that all work together. That is my job…..to suggest and help you put it all together….to add pieces to create a “look “………..that becomes your look, maybe a “signature look”. There have been many women over the course of time that are known for creating their own unique and very individual  signature look. These are not women who follow trends or were ever considered to be “trendy”. They created trends, and because of their uniqueness….. women wanted to emulate them. Of course, Coco Chanel was one of those women. In my small way I hope to give you the “tools” to create your look…..putting it together piece by piece, season after season…..creating something special.
