“THE BLACK ELONGATED CARDIGAN & TUNIC TANK”

trapeze1

……………….Just when you thought what else could you possibly want, or must have in Whisper Knit??? The ELONGATED WHISPER KNIT ENR CARDIGAN, A287608, and the TANK TUNIC, A287609…..show up!……For me, Whisper Knits are like breathing air. You can’t live without breathing, and you can’t live without your Whisper Knits! As long as you have to put clothes on your body….they may as well be WHISPER KNITS……….By now, most of you know the virtues of WK. The COMFORT….the WEARABILITY….the LUXURIOUSNESS….the way they FEEL against the skin…..all adds up to pieces you will wear and cherish forever. If I were to chose one fiber…one fabric that I thought a woman could live in without owning anything else…..it would be a Whisper Knit wardrobe……These are two pieces you will love to add to your growing WK wardrobe!

……………………..The new cardigan, in the ENR WK is approx 40 1/2 inches long for the XS. It is an open CLEAN front, meaning there are no buttons. The advantage of this is….any accessory you choose will work perfectly……..without clashing with the buttons……There is a  banded collar that rises slightly on the neck, like a kimono, and then proceeds to the hem…….very elongating……..There are also ENR PATCH POCKETS that meld into the garment…….As a separate piece in your wardrobe….think of all the things you already own to wear under this cardigan……WK V-necks and sleeveless mock TN sweaters, and WK skirts and pants……georgette shirts and blouses both solid and prints, and dresses….on and on and on……..However, I have come up with something NEW to wear with the cardigan………The TANK TUNIC with SIDE SLITS, A287609……..Worn together the outfit looks like $$$$$$$…..It too is a fabulous separate piece to be worn with so much of what you already own…….The length of the tunic is approx 29″ for the XXS, with approx. 7″ side slits……..Wear it over slim pants, or LINEA BODY leggings and Capri leggings……For a more languid 20s look, I am showing it above with the ALABASTER GAUZE PANT, A279294……It’s very Jennifer Jones in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “Tender Is The Night”………not a great movie, but she looked fabulous!……………Around her neck, another NEW NECKLACE coming sometime in April. I call it the “AZTEC” necklace, J335215…..The “wedge” pieces are BLACK, sort of an ebony, and GOLD…..WOOD…….The other beads are GOLD METAL beads and BLACK RESIN BEADS……It will be avail in a second color combination……Alabaster/Gold and a hint of Black. The BLEACHED wood is just beautiful……..Wear it long a la the 20’s or doubled up……This comes from my Anne Klein archives and honestly you can’t tell them apart………………..I know you will enjoy wearing the new cardigan and tank season after season…..year after year………………………………………enjoy………………….much Love……………………………………Louis

FYI – the New Linea Tunic Tank A287609 is posted on Q and available to order.

Louis- I can’t WAIT to see how you will style these pieces next week! I would like to see some original ways to pair these sets with all kinds of pants and jeans.

  4. diane228

Louis- this set is great. As mentioned previously very similar to Eileen
Fisher although at a MUCH better price.
My friend and I attended a showing of the Oscar nominated costumes at the Fashion
Institute in LA last night (naturally both of us were in Linea) Since you and Jaq are
film buffs I was wondering if any of the costumes in any film this year
impressed you? Looking forward to your next show.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Diane…..the movies this year have been pretty grim, and i can’t say any of the costumes stood out. What was nominated???…Jac and I have been watching “Victoria” on TV and the entire production, costumes included, is pretty spectacular! I can’t believe the interiors are sets!

      1. diane228

Louis- I’m not sure what is nominated, but nothing I saw knocked me out. Saw stuff from La La Land and Tom Ford’s film but
no big deal in my opinion. Attendees at the event were asked to wear silver and black since it was the silver anniversary of the event. Let’s be
kind and say outfits were interesting.

        1. louis dell'olio

Diane….that’s funny…..I’m sure you saw some beauts!

      2. Somersault

Louis, you and Jac might enjoy Miss Fisher’s Murder Mystery. It’s on PBS, Thursday evenings. It is made in Australia and a lot of fun an enjoyable piece of fluff. Costumes are great. I think it is on Amazon Prime if you have a fire stick!

    1. Kate

Never mind. I see it below in ivory! I would love this same skirt in navy, but guessing that’s not going to happen!

    2. louis dell'olio

It’s the same yarn and the same color but the skirt is made in the Milano stitch while the tank is in ENR. This has no effect on the colors matching.

  5. Sallie

Triple WOW, Louis!! Beautiful set….and each color is a classic. This is the necklace that I have…still in its N-M box with the price tag($140…and worth every penny) tucked beneath the cotton batting. I’ve had it for decades and wear it every summer. I can’t wait for the blonde version. I’ve turned my 40+ yr old daughter onto your clothing and jewelry….,it is QUALITY as well as beautiful. Thanks.

    1. louis dell'olio

Dear Sallie…..I didn’t realize the original necklace, which must be at least 27 years old, cost that much then. This new version will be considerably less.

  6. Grace

WOW! Be still my heart–this sweater set is irresistible! The length, the fabric, the elegant styling, the POCKETS!! I will be getting this gorgeous set in every color. I absolutely LOVE this look, just as you’ve styled it, Louis.

  7. Goldie76

Oh, by the way, I agree with you about “Tender Is the Night” and Jennifer Jones’s wardrobe in that movie. So classic, so flowing, so exquisite. The look can be so wonderfully elongating.

  8. Chris S.

    Louis,
These are just beautiful! Is the tank also ENR?
Thank you for all you do for us.

    1. louis dell'olio

YES, and it’s fabulous! It looks great with everything and every kind of pant and skirt. With a boho I would suggest a hip slung belt and blouse the sweater a bit.

  9. Melissa

I live in your WKs. Can’t wait to get at least the black set. Probably the tanks in ivory and red. I’m not usually a red girl but I love your scarlet red. Beautiful set Louis!

  10. LeefromMinnesota

To paraphrase a famous movie quote “just when I thought I was out Louis pulls me back in”. Not that I have ever really been ‘out’ when buying Linea. The black set is definitely going to be mine, and I am seriously thinking about the red because it is such a beautiful, beautiful color. I have the red shirt — it’s one of my favorites and I don’t often go for red. So ladies, if you are not really much of a red wearer try this one.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

LeeLeeLee…..if you already have the red skirt! You must get the red cardigan and matching tank. You will be set for any occasion any time of year!

      1. Goldie76

That was my thought, too, Louis. I’ve got that lovely Scarlet Red skirt, and it yearns for other match-ups in addition to the turtleneck, swing sweater and crew neck sweater in Scarlet Red that I already wear.

When one sees a true red without much orange in it, one must pounce on it. At least, that is what I think. 🙂

        1. Grace

Goldie, I am totally with you on the absolute perfection of the scarlet red. I snatched up every item this season in that color and I find it just lifts my spirits whenever I wear it. And, we could definitely use a little “lift” these days with you-know-who at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue 😉

          1. Goldie76

            Amen, darling!

(Louis, please be lenient with us. These are times that try men’s souls, as they say. How I have longed — for years — for four candidates, with no one labeled with a party name. Simply: Option #1, Option #2, Option #3 and Option #4. You look at the platforms offered by each of the four options and make your choice for the one who most satisfies what you desire in a leader and hopes to go in the direction you want. No demonization of the “other.” After all, we all have reasons for our choices and are not to be denigrated or vilified for those choices.)

            1. Grace

Dear Goldie, I hope I haven’t gotten us into trouble! I think one of the best antidotes to the stress and worries many of us are feeling now may be the balm of good conversation and the beauty of fashion. But, if Louis prefers we stay clear…mums the word! lol

            2. Sheesh

Gals, I’m right there with you. I was in Fort Worth on Election Day (voted absentee in MA)and I wore Linea Navy Ponte Pants and Navy WK Tank with Scarlet WK Swing Cardigan—with Joan Rivers Red, White and Blue flag scarf and her Americana pin up on my shoulder—ready to celebrate—I was giddy with excitement—-SIGH—now I’m marching in a Pink Pussyhat!!!

          2. Goldie76

Sheesh, what a place to be on Election Day. So we actually had a Linea Lady in one of those hats. Wow!

I just keep thinking that “Good trumps ‘Badnon’.”

            1. WNYGal/April

Sheesh isn’t the only Linea “lady” with a PPH, Goldie, dear. I also knitted one for my husband, & all my sons, but in Madonna black(the boys’ covered theirs with safety pins!) I probably could have sold a TON of them at the March, if they’d been in WK, though! And, no, Louis, that’s not a suggestion (even if a few of us might think it’s a good one, lol)!
OK, we should probably stop, before this turns into another Bowling Green Massacre, & somebody gets hurt.

            2. Goldie76

April, we especially want to keep Frederick Douglass unharmed. I am duly impressed with y’all. I am not naive enough to believe that all Linea fans share these sentiments, but I want to give props where they are due. Hubby, too … Wonderful!

            3. julie

              ~Sigh~

Looks like I don’t get a “safe space” here, after suffering in silence for EIGHT long miserable years.

          3. Goldie76

Julie, I admire your courage for coming forward, and believe me, I understand (and sympathize with) some of your point of view. I’ve just retired, but my office, for the mos part, held your sentiments. It is not as though people are that far apart, though. My colleagues were some of my best friends and are among the dearest folks I know. True.

            1. Grace

Sheesh, I joined the 100,000+ in Denver with my daughter & sons for the Women’s March and we’ll all do it again on April 15. I neglected to score one of those pretty pink p-hats, but will be wearing one next time around. As I recall, I wore all Linea that day, but my outfit didn’t hold a candle to your fabulous Election Day outfit 😉 Love it.

            2. Grace

Oh, and long live Frederick Douglass, Goldie 😉

      2. LeefromMinnesota

Yes, I must — why did I even entertain any other thought???

  11. Seka

I have been waiting for this Elongated Cardigan! I love wearing this style of Cardigan – so very Eileen Fisher (have many of her pieces but prices are very high)! Will be purchasing the Black and Red Cardigan and Tank!

Also wondering are the sleeves long or 3/4 length!

Thank you Louis! I wish the Q would wake up and give more $ to Linea!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Seka, yes the sleeves are 3/4…..just the right length to wear with my new cuff bracelets……one on each arm!

      1. Seka

Thx Louis! I am a fan of 3/4 Sleeves!

And I just realized that you are offering Ivory – at first I thought it was White (don’t like White) so now I just might have to get all 3 Colours!

  12. 1jac

    Good morning Louis,

When do you think these lovely garments will be available for ordering?

    1. louis dell'olio

I would guess by my Feb 13th show

  13. Deborah (a.k.a. Diamondscribe)

I love sweater sets! And, I love long! How could I possibly choose which? It will have to be all three. Thank you soooooo much for a tunic length whisper knit tank. Love the side slits. Yours are the only tanks I order because I don’t have to tuck in straps all day. Everything is covered. And, with the topper length cardi? Très chic, très élégant, très sexy!

  14. Lynn

Good morning. Does the cardigan have long sleeves? Thank you.

      1. Lynn

        Thank you!

  15. Shan

The black and red are mine!

  16. Victoria1

Oops! you did it again! Whisper knit perfection!
All three colors coming home with me!
