MONDAY, JANUARY 28TH, THE MORNING SHOW WITH PAT & JANE

Hi everyone! We are back from our mini vacation…we did have a great time, but there was a bump in the road, so to speak, but you can read about that in the next post….when you scroll down. First this is a brand new shirt jacket, A231142, the PYTHON JACQUARD. The style of this shirt/jacket is the same as A226256, that came in straw and chili pepper. However, this is a totally revamped fit due to the change in fabric. This knit has stretch, as all knits do, whereas the previous jacket did not. So the stretch, and being unlined will give you all the ease and comfort you want. Definitely buy your size. I know some felt the other jacket was on the small side…..this one is not. The pattern has texture and a raised dimension. The colors are………PUTTY……………..PURPLE……………….TARRAGON. This is a jacket you can wear right now, and into the late spring early summer. In the photo you can see I have paired the PUTTY with the natural faux linen herringbone pant [still avail] and the flecked shell, which has been reordered and will be avail late spring. The fabric combination is pure designer and the look is very expensive. The PURPLE is paired with a white tank tucked into the charcoal gray heather drawstring pant…..that many of you own…..a casual dressed look. The TARRAGON has the charcoal heather body suit with a vintage Linea charcoal heather pencil skirt……a pair of heather grey tights, shoe booties, boots or heels and you can wear it right now. Throw a charcoal, ivory or black turtle neck under any of them, and a pair of jeans and you are super casual…..great for a night at the movies. The shirt/jacket does come with a self tie belt which you can use if you want to be cinched in…..or not. There are lots of details that disappear in the pattern like breast pockets and buttoned flaps, epaulets, and the sleeves are LONG……I just like them rolled up. This is a very special knit in a very special pattern and it is QUALITY with a capital “Q”. I also LOVE this jacket worn over the matching dress……Talk about a “Designer LOOK”…..very CHIC! I know for those of you who will give this a try…..you won’t be disappointed……..compliments will come, and that’s for sure. …………..remember…..this will be on this Monday morning with Pat and Jane!!!!……………………………………………Enjoy…………much LOVE……………………….Louis

    Hi, Louis:
I was so glad to see that your morning and evening presentations went so well! I purchased that jacket in putty and I know I will enjoy wearing it. I’ve mentioned before that I am reworking my wardrobe to embrace a more classic and ladylike look and your clothes are making it happen. I received the swing jacket in the new Iris color and I posted in my review that it took my breath away. Everything about the jacket is wonderful.

At 5’4″ I have never felt that long skirts or the boho look have been flattering on me but after I saw your pictures of the pebble crepe top with the boho in chilli pepper, I’ve decided to get that combo. Those colors just came back in medium so I am giving them a try. See what you’ve started?!

Thank you for all, best to Jac and many blessings.

Dear Fran……I would advise when you try the outfit on to wear the right shoe….it will make all the difference. If you need height, a banded wedge would be good for the spring summer….not a closed toe which will make it look heavy. A flat strappy sandal in a burnished metallic or a tea cup slide also looks great. What ever you chose don’t wear a heavy looking shoe….a bold banded flat is fine but not too covered up.

      1. Waterbaby

I have a burnished metallic strappy flat sandal that I thought would look great with it, thank you. This will be a perfect outfit in the Atlanta area from spring through early fall because the weather is so warm. Here we are at the end of January and it is 70! A week ago when everyone in the north had a bitter cold snap it was cold here about 35-40 but it never lasts long. So, we Southern ladies are always looking for beautiful yet colol clothes . Again, thank you.

PS: I so appreciate all your pictures to see how you style your clothes. That was what encouraged me to get the outfit 🙂

        Blessings, Fran

Hi Louis! It was so nice seeing you this morning on QVC. Of course I had to have the shirt jacket in tarragon. Looks like another winner. By the way, your last tsv jacket is wonderful. I ordered the coral in the jacket and whisper knit sweater. Once I received it I realized what a mistake not to order more so I went back on line and was able to get the navy and iris jackets but as luck would have it, not matching sweaters. What a shame that QVC will not be reordering them! I was wondering if you ever thought about doing a pant and skirt in a solid gabardine material that would work back to beautiful jackets and tops. I commute to work every day and I need a more substantial weight fabric for pants and skirts that will still look nice after sitting for long periods of time.

Thanks for all your great items!

So happy you are okay and escaped harm–and Jac avoided the accident. I was in a fender bender with a West Coast “bimbo” on 11/2/12 which crunched my vintage 560SEC MB and it brings me to tears every time I see it in the driveway. Everyone was stopped and she hit the guy in back of me, pushing me into the little SUV in front of me. I escaped without a scratch but the guy in back was hauled off in an ambulance. Repairing my car will be a fortune because of damage to back and front and a frame that was bent in the process. The adjuster at Mercury must have been calculating the cost of VW parts when he did the estimate, because the check they sent me would barely replace the bumper on my car. I have no idea what she was doing, but her mind was NOT on planet earth.
Anywho, such is life. I was wondering if the purple shirtjacket would compliment the shorter version boho in violet, otherwise I will go with the taupe shirt and the coco boho. Ciao. And Godspeed.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cela, I would not put those two pieces together….it’s a lot going on.

      1. Cela

Okay which boho would go with the shirtjacket above in which color? Also what basic silhouette would you say the elbow sleeve sweater is?

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cela, the taupe and black boho skirts both work with the the putty shirt/jacket. The only color boho that works with the purple and tarragon shirt jackets is the black.
I am not sure which elbow sleeve sweater you are referring to as I have made many. If you are speaking of the new WK that went with the TSV jacket. I would say buy your normal size. Some were afraid the given measurements were small and upped a size….only to find out that it was NOT necessary at all. The bottom rib measurement is small but that is because of the knitting of the ribs which stretch a LOT and on the body have a flat look.Is this the sweater you are referring to?

          1. Cela

That’s what I meant, the taupe boho and the putty shirtjacket. I tend to talk in generalities, but in writing, no one can see your expressions so you have to be precise, naming each color exactly as it is on the Linea site.
Let me say the texture of this shirt is so rich and I’m loving the neutral shades of putty, truffle, and taupes this spring. What shade coming in March will compliment these neutrals?

            1. Cela

Also Louis, is the purple in this shirtjacket the same as the little sweater tee in iris that matches the Iris TSV? Just wondering if it can be worn with this jacket as well.

  4. Ann/snickster

    Hello Louis,
First I want to say that I am very glad you were not hurt any more seriously in the accident. Hope you are healing well.
Also wanted to say that all the items I ordered in the last 2 shows arrived in perfect condition and all fit fine. I am very happy with all itmes ordered. I also plan to order the shirt in putty that will be aired on Monday. And can’t wait for the Feb 7th shows. Thanks for your great designs. Have a great weekend

  5. Cathy in PA

    Dear Louis,

This may already have been asked and I missed, but: Does by chance this purple shirt jacket match or work with the Iris skirt that I got to go with the Iris TSV? Also, my Chili Pepper version of this shirt fits me perfectly, so the words “fit reworked” worry me … so often that means “made smaller because it’s a knit” … and I like generous ease … should I worry? I’d really love the dress, but think it’s not a silo meant for me, although the animal print invert pleat dresses were such a pleasant surprise.

Hope you are resting and healing. Cathy in PA

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

The TSV Iris is much brighter than the python shirt so I would not recommend them together. There is nothing o worry about the knit shirt….It is DEFINITELY NOT smaller so go with the size you ordered.

  6. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Louis, I’ve been in love with the necklaces you have used here to style the tarragon since they first appeared in your sneak peeks and on the models at QVC with other of your designs. Might we HOPE that they are an item QVC has snapped up and which will be coming this season???

SO grateful that you are “ok” after your rear-ending. I was asked to give a presentation to church youth on techno pitfalls and we talked much about texting and driving. I have to give the presentation again next month to other youth and add your story mentally to the long list of absolutely DREADFUL and fatal texting-while-driving horror stories. Thank Heavens you came out of it as well as you did! Speedy Recovery!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Nancy……the necklaces shown were done in three colors Olive, Amber and this Sage Green, which was actually a mistake. It was suppose to be more of a bone….so0 they only bought the amber and olive. Sorry this color won’t be avail.

      1. Nancy (aka TheOwl)

Well, the bad news is that I’ll really MISS getting this necklace in the bone and in the mistaken sage. But the good news is that I will be able to get it in the Olive and the Amber. I’ll be watching for it to come up on the Q. You win some – you lose some 😉

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

There are two necklaces [one shown in the picture] and they are beautiful in the amber and olive. There is a matching earring and a fabulous bold cuff bracelet…… so it’s a win win.

          1. Louis Dell'Olio

My mistake….both necklaces are in the picture.

  7. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Barbara…….I am so please you appreciate, with your background in textiles, this particular fabric. I was elated when I discovered it, and there are more things coming to coordinate with both the stone and pale olive.I have a new Ikat print that works fabulously with the pale olive herringbone pant.

    1. Barbara in Virginia

It’s a fantastic fabric! And I got many compliments from people with very sophisticated tastes who thought it was linen. Happy to hear that more go-withs are in the pipe line! In Vienna I wore the pieces with an ivory silk cargo blouse from many seasons back; with the lace cardi; with both the flecked tank and a black one; and I loved the jacket with a black tank and the black background paisley boho and sandals from a while back. It also works with the taupe boho, but as my “fugly” walking shoes weren’t a good look with the boho, that will have to wait until this upcoming spring and summer. I have the lace cardi in black on wait list! Terrific fabric!

  8. Cela

Louis, I know this is a tailored piece but what do you think about boho skirts of a similar color, along with your statement bead necklace in black being matched up with it this summer…or any time for that matter? And, maybe a black sequin belt for fun. And black patent thongs?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Cela…….it really isn’t that tailored because of the soft knit and the fact that it is unlined. If you recall the A226256, shirt/jacket came in chili pepper, which I did show with the boho skirt. This would look great with a boho and a tank….and the way you want to accessorize it sounds great. I’d have to see the black sequin belt though…..I think I would go with something either sportier or a black grain leather or patent belt……but that’s something you would have to experiment and have fun with.

  9. Carol

I have the purple dress, which I love, and the herringbone suit pieces you are showing with the putty, so I’m in for both of those colors.

I’m almost afraid to ask, but does the green work with the green herringbone?

    crdlb

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Why would you be afraid to ask me that??? It’s a perfectly reasonable question…
However, they do not work the herringbone is a pale olive and this is more green.I will however have quite a few new things coming to go with the pale olive herringbone pant, including the flecked tank and a new IKAT print.

      1. Carol

I was afraid to ask because I already NEED two of the jackets! LOL

        crdlb

  10. designista

What great texture…you got me on this one. I’m a real sucker for texture and I thought I would be able to pass on this jacket… not a chance!

  11. Mary

So that others don’t get confused – January 27th is Sunday. Your shows are on Monday January 28th, right?

  12. Sue W.

Hi, Louis! Glad that you are okay. I just love the TSV jacket. It was my first Linea purchase! The quality and style are superb! I am on waitlist for the blue drape neck tunic…love, love, love! More colors please! Can’t wait to see your items on Monday!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Sue……I am so happy you too a chance on Linea!!!You will find that my clothing is very consistent in quality and fit, and my Linea Ladies can vouch for that. There are always bumps in the road, but my manufacturer and myself are as diligent as we can possibly be to make sure every piece is shipped as perfectly as possible. Welcome to the world of Linea.

  13. Barbara in Virginia

Hmmmm….More temptation, Louis! I’m a HUGE fan of the herringbone suit in Stone, which is what I think they called it. This would give it yet another look. That suit was a real workhorse for me in Vienna 🙂
