………………………”GETTING IN THE SPIRIT”…….December is HERE!….and the Christmas spirit is alive, and exciting!…..After years of having the same antique quilts layered on one of my guest room’s beds…..I thought it was over due for a make over! I was looking for something that said “WINTER”, but didn’t scream “CHRISTMAS”….and then I found online this quilted bedspread and pillow case set in RED and WHITE with REINDEER and snow……I think it’s something I can leave on the bed beyond the Christmas season until Spring comes back in March or April depending on the weather…when it will be time to get into the spirit of SPRING!…From the photos I saw on line the quilting looked very puffy and dimensional…..At first I was a little disappointed….Why you might ask?…..because in the photos the bedspread and pillow cases, as I said, looked very dimensional and puffy….but….though they had an all over quilt pattern….it seemed flat, not like the photos I saw…..It was only after I took these photos that I realized they looked exactly like the original photos!!…How is that you may ask?……because it is cleverly printed, and it’s the shadowing in the print itself that gives the dimension. I though…”well I’ll be”….I couldn’t blame the company at all for shipping me something different….So, the puffiness you see isn’t puffy at all! It’s the print that gives the illusion of puffy quilting, and only really shows up in pictures!…I felt better about my purchase because I really did like the design…..I added the red and black Buffalo Check pillowcase and sheet set for some contrast….and for Christmas I added the small needlepoint decorations of Mr. and Mrs. Clause and Mr. and Mrs. Snowman and his wife. Jac needlepointed these many years ago….In the center is a very tired “SANTA” after a long night’s work….He came with a tin bucket for his aching feet, and a plaid scarf, but the bucket mysteriously disappeared!….and he’s never left the room?!…I swear there’s a ghost in my house that takes things!!!….He is part of a black doll collection that Jac and I purchased also many years ago…They all have long arms and legs that move….The name of the company that made them was called “DADDY’S LONG LEGS”, hence the long legs and arms… The company is no longer in business, so our collection has become VERY collectable!….Some of the dolls can still be found on Ebay and Etsy, and other outlets….After Christmas all of the Christmassy decorations will all be put away until the Christmas season returns in 2026!…………..Happy Holidays one and ALL!

Christmas is the time for beautiful plaids, even if it comes from a buffalo!🦬
What a Winter Wonderland bed! Great combinations and in your favorite color 🙂
