…………………………Are you ready?……………ARE YOU REALLY READY FOR THIS FABULOUS ZEBRA COAT!?…..A267936……I know you are! so here they are in all of their splendor!!……….Ladies………..THIS IS DESIGNER!!………. This is like nothing you will find in any store, and certainly you will practically have a one of a kind piece. How many women have you seen wearing the same Linea pieces you own? I would venture to say very few if any………If you are asking yourself ….”do I need this?”……………I can tell you this is not for you……..This is a WANT……this is a MUST HAVE…..this is a coat that will give you sheer enjoyment every time you put it on….and you know people will EXCLAIM how fabulous it is…..I’m not bragging….it just is. These coats don’t come around often if at all, and the likely hood of it coming back is slim to zero……it’s just too special………TREAT YOURSELF  to something FABULOUS. It certainly isn’t going to break the bank…..It’s actually unbelievably reasonable for what it is!………………..Lets start with the fabric…….it is….59% polyester, 28% wool, 9% acrylic and 4% other fibers. This is a YARN DYED JACQUARD woven fabric. It is not a print. The yarns are dyed separately in each color and then woven into the Zebra jacquard pattern. Yarns that are dyed individually before being woven are deeper and richer in color…….The process of finishing  the fabric is also different than a piece dyed fabric. This happens to be a very SOFT, PLIABLE COZY fabric……..This color combination has BLACK yarn woven with HEATHER CHARCOAL GREY yarn giving it a very special rich look………….The silhouette is simple and should be when using such a bold pattern. It has a HALF RAGLAN SLEEVE….meaning it starts half way between the natural neckline and where a set in sleeve would start….so it has a very soft natural shoulder……though there are shoulder pads so it doesn’t look droopy, and helps to maintains the “HANG” of the coat. There are GENEROUS sized PATCH POCKETS, and the coat is closed with FOUR LARGE BLACK BUTTONS… The coat is FULLY LINED in BLACK SATIN………..but and this is important……..the FACING of the coat, and a one inch BAND bordering the inside of the HOOD is done in a BLACK PONTE KNIT……….This gives the hood a lovely finish instead of the lining coming to the edge, and the facing looks expensive when the coat is worn open…..It’s a detail that makes the coat even more special. You may have not even noticed it, but you would realize that there was just something out of the ordinary……..Now for a real special detail…..the sleeves are also faced in the Black Ponte Knit….so you can turn them back if you want a more casual look, or maybe you want to show a hit of color of your sweater sleeve coming out. Naturally, if you have shorter arms this will save money for alterations that will not be necessary!…………….The SHAPE………………This is NOT an over sized coat so do not size down unless you are very slight and petite. Some of you sized down the A238159, boucle jacket that came in Ruby, Sapphire and Malachite, and realized it was a mistake. For this coat to look and hang correctly it should be generous….not skimpy. You want to be able to layer a turtleneck as well as a Fisherman’s sweater! There should be volume to this coat!! It is a very well balance coat and hangs perfectly straight……….The HOOD……………..How much FUN is it to have a ZEBRA COAT with a HOOD! When it really gets cold just get one of your WHISPER KNIT SCARVES, A257914, in the BLACK, NUTMEG or BRICK RED…..or one of your POSH KNIT SCARVES in any color and wrap it around your neck keeping the hood close to your face…………………Shown under the coat is the new IVORY TURTLENECK SWING WK SWEATER, A268137 over a short WK skirt or my Moss Crepe skirt…When it really gets cold wear the new GRAY ZIP FRONT CARDI with the FAUX LEATHER trim underneath…..WOW….What fun this GREY and BLACK ZEBRA coat will be with my new GREY TUXEDO STRIPE TIGHTS with the BLACK VELVET STRIPE running up both sides of the legs………..it’s simply fabulous……..a shoe boot and volia…….SILVER BOLD HOOPS and the SILVER SINGLE BAR necklace completes an already outstanding outfit………………..I know for sure…..those of you who will own one of these coats will be happy you decided to take this rare opportunity………..I know you will have lots of fun wearing it…….After all that is really what fashion is all about……………………………..enjoy………………………much Love…………………………..Louis

Oh my! Here we go again with another MUST HAVE. Need went out the window with the trenches and Motos, and I really NEED more clothes for warm weather. The silhouette, especially from the side, is perfection. I’m leaning towards the Blue…I’ll pretend it’s waves and not a zebra.

        CLEVER MAN!

Agreed. I love plays on words. This forum can be so entertaining.

    Dear Louis,

I’ve yet to resist any of your coats/jackets this season, and the zebra is no exception. I’d like to order the blue AND the grey, but I must choose one. I know I can’t go wrong with either choice, but I’m thinking the grey is more subdued and it doesn’t take me too far out of my lane! Although it’s beautiful and my favorite color, the blue seems a lot brighter on camera. Would you agree?

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Morning Grace…..compared to the grey the blue is brighter…..but….not as bright as on camera. I just compared the Lapis WK TN to the coat for Kate, and they are in the same family, but the TN is brighter. They can still be worn together, but the coat isn’t as bright……If your even questioning it….then go with the grey! The blue should be an emotional must have….if you know what I mean. The grey is a statement in itself….the blue is a stronger statement…Don’t get me wrong…the blue is fabulous. In the end I think you would be comfortable in both, but probably more so in the grey. This is not an everyday coat, it can be, but most will want to wear it when they want to look very special. With black and ivory or even black and a color….like a Ruby red TN…..the grey is outstanding.

      1. Grace

Thank you, Louis–I very much appreciate your guidance on color selection. You are so kind & generous to help each of us work through our color & sizing decisions. In the end, I may “need” both colors (the blue is drawing me in…), but the grey can easily go more places with me, including to client meetings. It’s reassuring to know the blue is not as bright as the lapis…I think I can handle it. We’re all prepared for the zebra to sell out, so it may be wise to “carpe diem” and order both colors as soon as they appear. Let the stalking begin:)

Well, I’m in for the Tobacco and I hate brown! It’s gorgeous and great for Chicago. I’m a knitter, so yarn dyed is so much better then printed on.

  4. Shopperv

I Musharraf e the blue! Fabulous coat. Did I miss the number? Thank you Louis!!!!!

    1. Shopperv

I must have this in blue!!!!

    2. Seka

      The Item number is A267936.

  5. Sheesh

Oh, Louis, this IS so in MY comfort zone. I live for looks like this! I’ve been an animal print lover since I was a little girl—that’s a long time. Seriously, I can’t decide which colors–I think the Tobacco for sure, but then I want a second–so I’m thinking the Blue. Would it be too crazy to get all three? Grey is a great color for me, but it is almost too conservative—I really want to take a walk on the Wild Side!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear sheesh…you don’t need three! I think the tobacco and blue will be great. You have plenty of black and ivory to wear with either and the Tobacco swing sweater is coming to match it, or the clay TN.

      1. Sheesh

Louis, I have fair Irish/English skin and can not wear browns or golds (they make me look tired and worn)—so no Clay T-neck for me. However, when I wear the Tobacco Zebra Coat, I will wear Black up near my face (Black is my friend)and I will get the Tobacco Swing Sweater and wear your Black Multi Bead Torsade Necklace to keep the Brown away from my face.

I’ve made my decision–Tobacco and Grey, and here’s why: I want to wear the coat to my business meetings (and you know where I work) so Grey is dramatic yet subdued—and I wear lots of Red (one of my best colors), so the Grey makes the most sense.

        Thanks for the advice.

        1. Louis Dell'Olio

My dear Shelia….you can’t go wrong! and with your personality you will knock them dead no matter what you wear!

          1. Sheesh

Oh, Louis, you are so kind……thank you for the compliment.

  6. Lyn

I plan to get the grey/black Zebra coat. I’m an animal print lover!

  7. Goldie76

A strange force caused me to buy and cancel the plum moto jacket two times on Monday. Something made me put back that rare find, and I could not believe my firm resolve to escape from its charms. Now I know what it was. Had I bought the plum moto, the zebra would not have the slightest chance of a UPS trip to my door. “Brown” will be bringing the coat of the magical and undulating stripes to me. I’m choosing charcoal heather grey & black.

  8. nikki

Louis, this print is so out of my comfort zone also, however it looks too good to pass, I may even get two. I cannot believe that I will be stepping way out of my comfort zone

  9. Karen in WA

When will the tobacco turtle swing be available? I already have the tobacco body tights. The tobacco and black is a must have for me!

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

There isn’t a tobacco TN swing…only the original swing coming next month.

  10. Seka

    Louis,

This is SO MY COAT! Have said this before – LOVE absolutely everything about this Coat! Can’t wait for the Q to post it! I know it is scheduled for your October 7th Show – but with Q you never know when they will post an Item so will check every day!

Will get the Tobacco/Black for me – and the Heather Grey/Black for a Family Member (we wear the same size)!

Thank you for offering such Beautiful and Great Quality Designs!

  11. Kate

Guessing Jac will order a small? (By the way, how gorgeous was she yesterday?)

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Kate…..the xs actually fits Jac perfectly, and it is her size…..but….she likes her coats either very fitted where she would take her size, like her pea jacket, or a bit over sized. So yes, she would get the Zebra in a small…..but that’s her, and she has broad shoulders to carry it.

  12. Dariann

Help – I can’t decide what color to purchase! When can we order it?

    Louis, this is amazing,
    Dariann

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

Since there isn’t a great deal of them I doubt that they will show it before my Oct show on the 7th. The earliest would b the night before.

  13. Kate

This is so out of my comfort zone that I can’t NOT order it. What a collector’s piece. I’ll totally wear mine over a turtleneck and skirt but I LOVE the idea of it with a fisherman’s sweater and skinny jeans. It won’t be easy to choose just one color.

    1. Louis Dell'Olio

You surprise me all the time…I would have guessed this was right up,your alley and not out of your comfort zone at all.

      1. Kate

I was one who ordered down on the boucle coat and I did regret it! So glad you mentioned that. The style is totally me–it’s the print that’s out of my zone.Thank you for explaining yarn-dyed vrs piece dyed; woven vrs printed. Great information. I’m ordering two because as you said, this will be one and done. I predict a speedy sell out.
