……………………..OKAY….fess up…..who’s been NAUGHTY, and who’s been NICE? or maybe a little bit of both??………..You can’t lie……..Santa’s reading his list…..he’s checking it twice…….he knows exactly who’s been naughty and nice!!!!! ……………….I just got home from seeing….”WEST SIDE STORY”….and I thought it was fabulous…….It was exactly what I would have expected from Spielberg…..Fabulous, imaginative photography that captured the mood and the incredible locations of the movie……What is there to say about the genius of the Leonard Bernstein score and the lyrics of Sondheim ……….they are brillante, and  better than ever. The new dancing scenes were great with great costumes. It would be very foolish to compare the original movie to this as it would be to compare to Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juilet……They were all fabulous!!!!…..I thought Ansel Elgort, who plays Tony was wonderful. very believable in the role and has a disarming and sensitive singing voice….I don’t understand why he got such lukewarm reviews…I met him once when he was a little boy. His father, the brillante fashion photographer, Arthur Elgort and I worked together on many Anne Klein National ads. At one meeting he brought his young son as they were on their way to I don’t remember. I remember he was a tow haired young beautiful child. He already has a few movies in his resume, and now stars as Tony in WSS…..good for him!….Arthur must be very proud. The young actress who plays Maria was perfection. She was beautiful, and if they searched a hundred years couldn’t find anyone to play Maria better. Her acting and incredible voice were superb……The actress who played Anita, and the actors who played Bernardo and Riff were all fantastic. I must be honest, at first I didn’t like the actor who played Riff. I just didn’t think he looked strong enough, but I was wrong. He’s a fine actor…….Rita Moreno was perfectly cast for this role that was created for her…..the perfect Spielberg touch…….I, like Jude Law in the movie “Holiday”, have been known to be weepers…….so be warned bring your tissues with you!!!!!!………I highly recommend……………….WEST SIDE STORY

……………………Jac’s Mom was born on Christmas Eve……….so Jac always spent Christmas Eve with her Mom…….Don’t ask me her age……..she wouldn’t tell!…..In all of my life I have never seen a mother and daughter closer than Jac and her Mom……..Early on in our relationship Jac told me that her mother would always be “number one” in her life. Knowing Jac from when she was 17 I knew some of what they had gone through, and I realized it was just the two of them for many years. They were joined at the hip…..one heart……I replied, “that’s okay as long as I’m always the number one guy in your life”….”always” was Jac’s reply……………………Merry Christmas Everyone!

…………………..Some of you know the story of our fallen tree! One night Jac and I were fast asleep when we heard a loud noise that woke us up……..and we knew it wasn’t Santa!! We rushed down stairs to see what was the matter…..and to our surprise….there is was our beautiful tree on the floor. Many of the ornaments broke into tiny pieces of glass…….It was so sad to see. All of those beautiful decorations that meant so much to us….gone in a second…..I wanted to go back to bed and deal with it in the morning, but Jac just couldn’t wait…..so I started to sweep up the broken ornaments while Jac started to take the ones that were alright off the tree. We even kept some that were slightly broken, and to this day they hang on the tree…….It’s a reminder that even things that aren’t perfect are still beautiful……..I had posted about our tragedy. A short while after we got a big mysterious box in the mail???? A group of the Linea Ladies, and you know who you are…..got together and bought us new ornaments, but just not ordinary ornaments…..Each one was special!…..We were so touched by this act of kindness, and every year they have special places on the tree. Jac had me take a picture of herself saying…..THANK YOU………..That’s one of the reasons I like to decorate the tree by myself……..so many memories………From something that was so painful….we only had good memories of this incredible act of kindness…………..Thank you all once again, and I know Jac is saying THANK YOU from Heaven.
