Question?????

I have a question…….I keep hearing that skorts are selling and I have been asked if I have any interest  in doing one? I have never done a skort in my  career….the question is…….IS THERE ANY INTEREST???????

Absolutely NOT. Leave the skort to the less skilled, second tier designers here. They embrace it, and it suits the rest of the pieces in their lines. I’ll stop there now before I say something worse.

    1. Elena

Thanks for the insult. I like skirts.

      1. Elena

        Skorts

      2. Louis Dell'Olio

No insult intended…..I’ve seen some fun ones on women who golf, but for me they have to be short….and that wouldn’t fly.

        1. Elena

I didn’t intend that response for you, Louis. Some people seem to think that skorts are low class. I just returned from Paris and Rome. Saw lots of very short skirts and skorts. I’m young. So I like showing some leg.

          1. Anonymous

Guess I don’t fit in here.

            1. Louis Dell'Olio

Dear Anonymous….you absolutely do fit in here. I really want to give all of you things that you would like or need. Sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn’t. I have been trying to get a petite WK pencil skirt put in….not only for petite women but all women who want a shorter skirt. When Jac wears hers she has to roll it twice!. Just keep letting me know what it is you are looking for. You are very welcome here.

          2. Sherry

Elena, there are “more mature” women that like to show some leg as well, doesn’t have anything to do with age, it’s about…attitude and if you like your legs enough to show them off…everyone with a classic sense of style fits in here…I’m not classic all the time, but that’s the majority of what I wear…so don’t think you don’t fit in…I prefer not to wear a skort because of the double layer…too hot!!! I wear shorts because I don’t mind showing some leg…LOL.

  2. Leslie

Not a big fan of the “skort”. Too much material to wear on a hot summer day. Would prefer shorter skirts or more summer dresses from your line. If you do design one, I will order it and try it out.

  3. Jackie

My vote is no for a skort from Linea. I would rather you offer a summer dress, more ponte knit tunics, or something you do exceptionally well…more jewelry. Louis, a skort is too limited regarding where you wear it and to what occasion. To quote from Billy Joel, I like you just the way you are!

Thanks so much for asking. Definitely not my particular thing.

  5. Sheesh

In a word, NO! Go with your instincts, Louis, there’s a reason you never did one before. I don’t see the point, as many have already pointed out. I just love your new Tile Print Skirts and I’d love to see them in a solid as a wardrobe builder/filler to wear with all our fabulous Print Poly Span tops—the Animal Print, the Hydrangea, the Medallion the Pucci-inspired—Black, Navy, Olive, some Tan/Natural Color—would be a great start!

I’ve never understood the need for a skort. I noticed QVC has been pushing them this season, but it seems odd to me to have a skirt front and see a basic short once the person turns around. The only skort that would make any sense is if it was a skirt 360° around. But, once it’s a full skirt over a pair of shorts, you’ve made 2 layers of garment, in essence. That’s double the fabric in summer heat. I think I’d find either shorts or skirt to be cooler here in Florida – rather than one over the other.

  7. Renee

No to the skort. Yes to crop pants!

  8. Kay Hemme

    No

  9. MH_MN

I’m sure you would design a cute one. I am not sporty so I never wore such a thing when young with great legs, and I would not wear one now.

  10. Pecan Cookie

Nope! If I think a skirt is too short I wear a ‘skimmie’ but do not want a garment that is already combined.

  11. Barbara C

    Would love them for golf!

  12. Debby

No, not my style. Thanks for asking though.

  13. Mary

No to skorts, if it’s hot enough to wear shorts, those who want to can do so. If I want to stay cool yet have coverage that a skort would offer, I wear a long skirt with Jockey skimmers underneath. If there is a fashion malfunction, the skimmers assure nothing is exposed.

  14. Diane

Not interested at all but then I am not interested in maxi length either!

  15. Elena

Looks like you’re getting mixed responses. But, for me, yes, if it looks like a short skirt the whole way around and not shorts in the back. And I know you would do a wonderful job. I’m younger and below the knee looks dowdy on me.

    1. Pamela

I’m with you Elena – that ‘look’ of shorts on the back of a skort is just wrong – very, very, wrong! My only skort is a cotton knit that I love wearing when riding my Townie bike to the Farmer’s Market – it’s a cute camo print that’s great to pair with Hot Pink. I say a big YES to a Linea skort! Style fits an active Lifestyle.

      1. Pamela

And if you design – keep it on the shorter side – some of us like showing a lot of leg!

        1. Elena

Pamela, Looks like we’re outnumbered. Your camo print skort sounds wonderful. My kind of style!

  16. Seka

Not for me! Not interested at all!

    Thank you for asking.

  17. DeLois

I have no interest in a skort, because I don’t play tennis any more and if you wore one ( they are usually short) I would feel uncomfortable because people would think it was a very short skirt……

  18. Saphira

Quite honestly no, even if it’s your design a skort is just not my style. I’m can’t recall seeing them worn up here either (Pacific NW).

  19. Shari

Yes to the skort idea IF it it done in a classy way and with a classier fabric, such like the dress A233849. I don’t think I would care for the sporty cotton /spandex look. Would be nice to have a drapey fabric in a more surong type style or a wrap style with intrest to the front and about 21″ long (kissing the knee.)(I’m 5’6″) Too often I see “older” ladies wearing items made for the younger set and I think it is SO inapprpriate.I am an “older lady”, I would wear a skort-done right.
I know YOU would do it right and classy.

  20. queendiva

Skorts- maybe not. Pedal pusher length pants? definitely. Fitted legs in a comfortable fabric like your faux linen pants from a few summers ago. (came in blue and green).

  21. Lilly (LGT)

Yes, if you designed one I know it will be a flattering and classic design.

  22. Jane

No, definitely not. Not a good look.

  23. Susan (aka carlytwila)

    absolutely not

  24. Maia

    I would not buy them.

  25. jcdragon

No, no and no thank you!

  26. Lacylass

Yes if you found a way to make them flattering and if not too short…I hate the shorts from the back look and just the skort portion in front…I prefer the skort all the way around…in black, optic white, and navy! 🙂

  27. LindaSonia

Yes, I’d be interested – especially if YOU made one that was classier looking in a more slightly structured fabric, similar to a denim. None of this elastic waistband stuff in the back or knit fabric – ugh!

I have one I’ve saved forever and still wear that is labeled ‘Villager Sport’ a liz claiborne company. It has endured the test of time because it has a classic style. It’s a tiny black & white check with a bit of embroidered flowers along the front hem – flat flap in front and shorts-look in the back. Mine is a bit longer than a golf skort – 19-1/2″. I still love it.

  28. designista

YES, I’m interested. I have several pair of DKNY skorts and wear them often in warm weather. They are all in the 18″ length range. I prefer the ones that are shorts in the back with a skirt flap in front. The golf shorts she did that are two layers front and back are less desirable although they do serve a purpose. My favorite pair is a beige/olive/cranberry plaid.

  29. gk27

    No, not my style.

  30. Kate

    Yeah, I don’t think so.

  31. Sallie

I have no interest in them. I don’t even wear shorts….Bermuda or otherwise.

  32. Kate

How about a knee length A-line skirt with a big pleat down the front [and perhaps back]? Thank you for asking!

  33. Shan

I have 3 skorts (denim, black and khaki) and I love them. If you made them I would have several more.

  34. Carol

For summer yes, for winter no. I’m certain anything you design will be the best of its kind. With that in mind, I would be interested IF the length is appropriate for your more mature customers. I’m not interested in a super short skort. I would be more interested if there was a super cute top to go with them–like one that buttons up the back.

  35. Ellie

Louis if you design a skort I will buy it. That said, I would not normally have interest in them. I wear skirts a lot, particularly in the summer months. But I agree with Sherry, when I want to wear shorts, I wear shorts. Hope that helps.

  36. Judi

I have no interest in them. I wore one years ago and didn’t find it that comfortable or flattering! I’d prefer shorts also.
    Thanks for asking for input.

  37. Sherry

I have never worn one…If I am going to wear shorts…I wear shorts, cooler without the extra layer.
